Courk's reminds me of the one I made for my Mozilla Firefox extension.
The only difference is mine is in itallics and slightly skewed. |

Enjoy. On scum, it took a couple days for some people to see it and the favicon stuff is flakey in any case, IMO.
I overstepped my bounds and added it to the default_header.php on the main site, too. If it should be undone, Antrax or I can undo it.

EDIT: Oh yeah, don't forget to delete and re-bookmark/re-link/re-add to favorites the page(s). |

I used Courk's original image and got these:
16x16
32x32
Nifty program. I'll never pay for it though. |

| I'd make a 16 and 32 version, except I don't know how to make an ico file. |

Various browsers use differnt versions. The 16x16 and 32x32 are the two most used. That is why the favicon is an ico file and not a png or gif...
And yes, I tried going to: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/jokes_free4me
And I got:
| Quote: |
No shared folders are available.
Sorry, the owner has not enabled any shared folders in their account. |
And a rather nasty animation.
EDIT: Oh and the link itself didn't work for me...

Yeah, i guessed those might have been pixels, but i really don't see what's the need for 32x32.
And by the way, have you tried to get that file i linked to? Did it work? |

bit? who said bit? I said 16 and 32 pixel, not bit... you really should pay more attention....
Sorry, doing too much at once.

I have something in my public folder inside my Yahoo! Briefcase (i think you need to log into Yahoo! to get it). I couldn't make it transparent, but as i said, anything can be improved later on...
PS What 16 bit were you talking about, jeep? Microsoft says 4-bit, 8-bit, or 32-bit are the icon depths. |

Well, if no one else is going to jump in... I'll put the icon in place if someone makes Courk's graphic into an icon file with a 16 bit and 32 bit version in it.

You can put one in (like the one made by Courk), and when a better one comes along, change it in a matter of seconds. |

They work in both IE and Firefox.
Favorg is a neat little program for IE that will keep them from getting erased when you clear your cache |

I was a bit quick to answer, there. Here is a quick intro to the favicon.ico bit:
http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutorials/web_graphics/article.php/3479911
In short, we need to create a ".ico" archive of potential icons. The above link references a web site that can stitch together a bunch of GIFs into a single .ico file.
Courk's idea jumps out at me in a way that I didn't think it would. |

| My gimp .ico plugin is spitting out binary garbage. Could someone try making a 16p x 16p version of your favourite PALADIN icon? I prefer Puzzles, myself. |

No, this is a very easy thing to do. For example, the website www.songmeanings.net does it with the following two lines in the html header:
| Quote: |
<link rel="icon" href="http://www.songmeanings.net/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.songmeanings.net/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> |
We will need an appropriately-sized image that is representative of the GL. One of the PALADIN icons would suffice, I think. |

| In Mozilla Firefox, many websites have their own little icon (favicon) in front of the url. When you drag the url to the bar that functions as a direct-access favourites bar, this icon shows up there - and often makes addition of text superfluous. Would it be a lot of work to do this for the GL as well, instead of the boring standard "page" icon it displays now? |
