Today is 10/24, or 1K Day. 1 Kilobyte is actually 1024 bytes, for you non-nerds out there. 1024 = 2 to the 10th power.
It's also United Nations Day. The UN officially came into existence on 24 October 1945 upon ratification of the Charter by the five permanent members of the Security Council.
Also, my mom had a baby on this day in 1961.
Hell, nobody else ever remembers.
