MNO is mistaken. I'm no better equipped to answer that than anyone else.
I don't see any way to do it, so I am pretty sure that's because there isn't one. Possibly a significant upgrade of the discussion board software would add the feature, but I am not prepared to try such an endeavor. |

I think we had to upgrade to phpbb3 or something.
I could be thinking of another feature though. |

| I think it is a limitation of the PHPbb software, Zag is way better equipped to answer this question though. |

This thread seems related close enough, and I really hate starting new threads for such a small question.
MS has the option of "threading" PM conversations. Is that something which can happen around here? It would be extremely useful... |

Not entirely true, I can't see it any more. (I'd like to get in there again if I could - I've got a few "Zag is such a jerk" comments I'd like to go and edit out please) |

Thanks for the access..."Top of the world, Ma"
Zag, I think most of the "Zag is such a jerk" comments appear in the regular forums...and I haven't yet seen your puzzle...
Suspence, I'll leave it to you to decide the best location. I'm happy in either place...but I'm usually here anyway.
I won't be looking at your thread with Thok just in case I'm called on for support later. |

Thanks, I see the top GLer forum. I guess I wasn't posting back at that time, it seems like it was a lot of fun...
For now, I've given quicktopic a try (primarily so we can make fun of Zag in private ), but we'll see how that works out for Thok and 3iff. It may be easier for them to keep everything on the GL. |
yeah I'm about to lock all the old threads, for archive sake.
and Zag, its all good! we had a habit of blasting your puzzles during that competition anyways. |

People working on puzzles could also be given GLOC access.
Actually, anyone who wants to collaborate on puzzles for the front page could be given access. |

Ok. I've given Suspence, 3iff, and Thok access to that forum. I think I did it right; you should now see it in your list of forums. Keep in mind that MNO, I, and any other forum admins as well as the other people who were judges of the Top Labyrinthian contest will be able to see what you post there. (Not that we'll necessarily go snooping, but you might want to keep your "Zag is such a jerk" comments to a bare minimum.)
I suspect that a better way to do it would have been to add them to the group that has access to it, but I didn't see where to do that. I'm sure I just overlooked it. |

If that still exists, perhaps 3iff, Thok and I could use it to collaborate on the test-solving?
If you prefer, I will give quicktopic a try, and thanks for pointing me toward it. |

there was a private forum for Top GL'er that was setup for the competition that i could give access to if needed at the time.
last I am aware of there is no way to send to multiple people.
As for the private option, you can always use quicktopic.com |

While working on the Metapuzzle in VSP, not being able to send to multiple people has caused some minor inconveniences. Since this thread is pretty old, does anyone know if this has changed at all?
Alternatively, is there a better way that a few of us can collaborate privately that I am unaware of. I saw this at one point:

But didn't know really what he was referring to?
Not sure if there is anything like this, but thought I'd ask. Sorry to be a pest. |

| Nope. I got the message that I could view my message or return to the main forum. I was auto-directed, and the list showed no message that I had just sent. |

As far as I know, you can only send one message at a time.
You should have been given the message "Sorry, but no such user exists" and returned to a screen with your message in it. |

I haven't been around for a while. I just tried to send a message to two other people, but the system doesn't show that I wrote anything after clicking "Submit" - neither in Out or Sent.
Does the GL system accept two user names in the Username field or is the singular "Username" a sneakily obvious clue? I wrote them separated by a comma. |
