| MTA's taken a huge hit after Sandy, and with that being down, it looks like NYC is just going to be a big bowl of traffic for the next few days or so. |

I lost power again about an hour after making that post and just got it back. About 35 hours out. And meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, my wife's wheelchair has been hopelessly broken. (It's a power chair, and the controls are fried.) She has another that she hates because she can't do her own transfers in it, but now we have to scramble to figure out what to do. |
that really sucks.
Just that internet outage is the only thing that happened. I actually canceled my trip to NYC for this, and I still haven't gotten a hold of Rana ( see: The New York Woman thread) since the Hurricane. |

| I had an induced power outage from 12 to 3 pm today (after the rain was done, to help with fixing up any downed power lines.) I can't really complain about it. |

| Lots of scary wind and rain on my end. I don't dare to go outside. |

| I've had about 5 or 6 power blinks where the power went out for a few seconds. Other than that, just lots of rain. |

| So far, ZERO effect. There is a pole thatis close to coming down near us, but we haven't lost any power or internet. Here's to hoping that luck continues. |

| Good luck. I'm currently seeing the effects, but it looks like this storm will mostly miss me (where by miss I mean about 6 inches of rain and no power outages.) |

| I'm not sure who else is with me these days on the East Coast of the US, but We are expecting a bad Hurricane to make land fall in our area. I live in the Finger Lakes Region, where a lot of the forecasts claim its going to be sitting on top of us for a while. bleh. Anyway anyone else out there, please be safe! |
