Sorry, perhaps 12 was a bad choice. It could be any number up to 100 or so. (i.e. It's not related to a jury)
Also, the classic car is mentioned in a Beach Boys song. |

We seem stuck, so here are the pairings, with the real phrase first.
Classic automobile -- 1/36th part of a mansus
An evening out with the guys -- Barely escape the vampire
Marine hair do -- Nickname for Pennington and Manute Bol duo.
It might have population of 12 -- Plowing under the grape fields |

It's been a while, so here's a new spoonerism puzzle. Except for the example, I don't think I'm repeating any, but you never know.
Each of these is a definition of a two-word phrase (or three words, with 'and' in the middle). They can be paired up such that the resulting phrases are spoonerisms of each other. At least one of the phrases in each pair is a reasonably common expression, but some of the others are pretty, umm, ridiculous.
Example: Light rain - Right Lane
Definitions
1/36th part of a mansus
Adam Sandler film
An evening out with the guys
Bar snack
Barely escape the vampire
California coastal city
Captured DeLuise
Chain of live-music concert halls
Cheer for the evil-doer
Cheese that was baked a little too long
Classic automobile
Correct place for the slow ones
Crossed off the mongrels
Disease which was completely eradicated
Driving hazard
Given by the best nurses
Handout advertising an ink shop
Home of the first football dynasty
Internet company
Kung Fu master
Landing place for your domain
Loose-fitting shirt of many colors
Marine do
Mild precipitation
Money to get home
Never pays for his share of the marijuana
Nickname for Pennington and Bol duo.
Population: 12
Plowing under the grape fields
Protected clothes for an apostle
Rowan Atkinson, much older
Suffer, wizard!
There are quite a few here, but some are really easy. Don't grab all the easy ones. |
