Every time I hear that on the commercial I think of the old "Gauntlet" voice over saying sardonically "That was a heroic effort!" |

I can see why you're the General Sales Manager of the Irrigation/Plumbing/Export Sales Department. Why, I almost have the urge to run out and buy some copper PVC pipe! |

Well, what with all the support and volunteers this project has garnered, the only thing left to find is a corporate sponsor.
Now, if only the GL has a plutocrat who could get us a good deal on some high-quality, lightweight, synthetic supplies. Maybe some sort of rigid plastic tubing.
I hear that he's giving the stuff away... |

The idea is to celebrate the fact that human-powered flight is impractical. Given the geographic distribution of GLers likely to get involved in such a proposal, the best location is probably in New York, this coming October.
The deadline for applications is July 15th. Express interest, "LMAO"s, and "dude, seriously, get that gas leak in your car checked out"s here.
