since they're loaded with madly skilled freshmen, maybe we'll get to see a run of Syracuse championships. are there any players that have won (or even been in) three NCAA championships? |

(and I may say it after that. I mean, Duke sucks, and they've won several championships. ) |

Neo, I wouldn't call them #2. If Texas had pulled out the win against Syracuse, I think they'd have beaten Kansas. Losing the championship game doesn't make a team the second best.
I still say Kansas sucks, and will keep saying it until they actually *win* a championship. |

If I'm scoring this right, I had 230+180+240 = 650 points.
The "Selection committee" (picking the better seed in each game) would have had 240+180+200+80 = 700 points.
Perhaps they know more about College basketball than I do. |

Yes, to win 5 straight games and not come out on top must be brutal.
Almost as bad as being Mith 24/7. |

Very little. An extreme tiny amount. I'm suprised you call it dignity [edit]or pride[/edit]
Face it mith, you called the #2 Team in the Nation a second-rater. Now if you were a diehard Syracuse fan, I'd maybe give you some credit, but your not, so I won't.

*~shakes head~* I can't believe Erskin missed that lay-up. He hits that, Texas gets it within 2 on the next possession, and they don't have to make stupid fouls because they're behind.
Oh well. Here's hoping Syracuse makes it 4-0 against the Big 12 so I retain some of my dignity. |

As if my original bracket hadn't imploded enough already...
I think all I need now is Michigan State over Texas, Syracuse over Oklahoma, Syracuse over Michigan State, Kansas over Marquette, and Kansas over Syracuse in the final, and I'll have won the second chance pool. Hope that's not too much to ask for . |

| Based on the strength of my Wake Forest-Florida matchup in my original bracket's final four, I believe I'm qualified in the "needing a second chance" category. "Whoopsie Daisie" is mine. |

I lost only two games on the whole left side of the bracket. I picked Creighton and Dayton. However, my right side of the bracket is beat up pretty bad. I have only three of the eight teams, and I had picked St. Joes as a final four. Oh well. My ESPN score is 460. My max possible is 1340.

My bracket is decimated. I lost a final four, and my eventual champ.
I only got 8 teams picked in the 16.
But as long as I beat Mith, I'll be happy |

I believe what Casinopete meant to say was Page 2
This link: http://games.espn.go.com/content/tcmen/2003/story?page=breakdown is somewhat interesting. It shows the percentage of entries on their site that picked each team in each round. I had no idea Kentucky was such popular favorite.
The most-picked first round upsets (not including the 8-9 games) seem to be 55% picking (10) Colorado over (7) Michigan state, and 39% picking (12) Weber State over (5) Wisconsin. Wisconsin and Michigan State are still in. |
