Breakfast: Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, and no-carb pancakes. (made with Almond flour.)
Lunch: Egg salad sammich with low carb bread. The bread tastes like styrofoam. The egg salad is fucking delicious though. I'll probably finish this sammich, and then just eat egg salad with pork rinds. (it sounds nasty, but it's tastey... at least to me)
Dinner: I think we're having fish and veggies. Erin (a friend from long ago) is cooking, and she's on the low-carb diet as well.

I find the concept of any GL'er (GL'er = smarter than dipshjit) possibly giving a damn what I'm eating, well frankly I find it absolutely and totally absurd!

Phoney baloney! Are you happy know! What an interesting tjhread with such intesting response possibities?

Who started this thread?

Quailman, dude, I swear, I just fried some extra lean ground beef with montreal steak seasoning, with a small amount of dill seed, freshly crushed black pepper.

I sliced a truly vine ripened tomato, mixed it with fried jasmine rice.

I am eating right out of the skillet right now. (well Iwas but now I'm posting. I am not a multi-tasker)

If any GL'er's are within driving distance, you show up and we (me and Brillo) will cook for you and send you off with baskets of fresh veggies to take home (until early oct or so for fresh. I'll have to cover stuff up and protect it from the frost, but I will have fresh veggies for the next two months.

And you should see my melon crop!

And DP, in a week or so, will you help me post a pic of my 'shaman's blue' popcorn? It's to the left of me in the veggie pics. But you should see it in about a week. It is truly outstanding. It's been five years since I've been able to put out a nice vegetable garden. I had to cut down a couple trees to get the full sun that makes the lush growth in this relatively cold clime, possible, Quailman. Plus the barreld and the fence helps. I also strategically planted the popocorn in an the curved arc at the norht west sdie of the garen. The slight arc shape pattern in relation to the sun's orientation, enhances the exposure, yet the shade it creates is well compensated by it's sheilding of the NW wind. Another enhanced microclimate. You need to have a few tricks up your sleeve to have a kick ass garden here in the cold heard of the north.

And my garden rivals any in the state. ~brags~

Those tomatoes were purchased at a local plant sale. I did not start them myself.

I swear that these tomatoes were spindly litle shits, only six inches tall on JJune 3'rd.

June third they were spindly six inch plants.

The experiment with the barrels has exploded with success. July was cold here, with many nights in the low 40's sometimes plunging to mid 30F.

We create and enhance a microclimate. The barrels are like a small upright body of water, there to stay to stabilize temperature.

Wait? Is this my garden thread

Btw, my thirty six tomato plants that were a spindly six inches tall and were planted on June third will yeild at least 4000 tomatoes through Oct. 15 and I will have to protect them like Mrs. Beasley.

Yes I can them, I love tomatoes. I will put up 200 quart jars, no preservatives, connoiseur stuff. Get up here Quailman! I'll Get the charcoal going!

I know only blimey limeys use gas and consider it a barbeque.

But old bean should show up too if he could for the charcoal grilled steak, mushrooms, squash, sweetcorn, green beans. Melons for desert.

Buzzsaw would cook for Quailman and Old Bean and also teach Old Bean how to cook hobo proper.

And if Aggie planned to show, Guiness would be on ice and ready.

Bearty, you're not that far away. Why don't you show up too? We'll hhave an early thanksgiving, since by then, my garden will be kaput.

Last night wife and I had dinner with company I work with at The Ryland Inn. Had a variation of the gourmand tasting menu with assorted wines, followed by cigars and 25 year old single malt in their cigar lounge. I highly recommend the place.

Slept through breakfast, as is typical for a Sunday.

Had some leftover takeout Chinese food for lunch from this place called Best Wok, which we call Ghetto Wok, because of a) the fact that it's damn near in the ghetto and b) the fact that it has bars on the windows. Good stuff.

Dunno what's for dinner...considering going back to Ghetto Wok for some dumplings or something.

It was 16C (60F) here today - nice for what will possibly be the last meal eaten outdoors.

French onion soup, with steak barbecued with roasted honey garlic sauce, eaten in full view of a gorgeous sunset over the river and farmlands, as seen from my balcony. I'll end the meal with Earl Grey tea, and later hot chocolate.
