What a terrific way to celebrate page two!

Tonight is the night of the concert that I've been pining about for a month now.

In order of my love for the bands, I will be seeing, in on concert, tonight:
Brand New.
Vendetta Red.
Dashboard Confessional.
MXPX.

YAY! [FUCKING] YAY! I'm so excited that I could spit. Right now I'm off to get new contacts and possibly new glasses. Then, it's home to grab my friend, and off to the concert. YAY!

Vendetta Red was here with the Attaris. I went for Vendetta Red. God I love that band.

Anyway.

It was reserved seating, and I didn't know. I bought my ticket late, so I was in B.F.E. I was so depressed. I went down to see if I could get lower, but no go, the guards were assholes. Anyway, on my way back to my seat, a bunch of kids were walking toward the floor with very excited looks on their faces. I asked one guy what was up. He said "I'm giving out wristbands for the floor, because there isn't enough people down there."

So, yeah, I got a wristband. It went from to in the click of a wristband. I was so happy.

As for lil ol' me, I got to watch a video of my dad singing at a karaoke bar on holiday. It ain't a concert, but he was pretty good, and besides, I felt like saying a bit more than just 'Yay!'.

During our holidays we went to a Vienna soiree in, d'uh, Vienna. A 12pp chamber orchestra played Mozart and J.Strauss, with occasional operetta songs by a tenor and soprano, and some beautiful Viennese waltz ballet inbetween. Really enjoyed it.

I'm going to see Cher in Toronto on Halloween. The only other concert I've seen is Jann Arden.

Tonight, In Order:
Against Me, Rise Against, Anti-Flag.

All three bands were good, but I liked
Against Me, Anti-Flag, and Rise Against (in order)
Anti-Flag would have gotten first, but they kept saying shit that bugged me. (not verbattom, but ideas are conveyed:

"Don't take our word for it, it's up to you to decide if GW Bush, who kills more people annually than Jeffory Dahmer, is a bad person or not."

I saw Radiohead twice, once in the Manchester Arena on Saturday and again at Earls Court in London yesterday. What's more, they rotated their set so I saw pretty much all of their live material.

They played loads of their more traditional rock songs from their back catalogue so there was a lot of moshing (but in a standing crowd of 10,000+ any moshing is a lot) and I was repeatedly brained by an uncle fester lookalike who was obviously pilled up to the eyeballs dancing like a lunatic to everything, including the slow numbers like Karma Police and Fake Plastic Trees. I like to think I got my own back everybody started going apeshit when 'My Iron Lung' came on

Highlights? In Manchester we managed to blag our way from seats right at the back of the arena to seats right near the front on the side with a great view of the band and they also played Climbing up the Walls (which, with You and Who's army and Subterranean Homesick Alien is probably my favourite song) and in Earls Court Thom was playing You and Who's Army on a piano with a camera mounted on it which he kept making scary faces into. That doesn't sound like much until you consider that the camera was hooked up to 30 foot high screens all around the arena and that Thom looks kinda scary anyway . He ended up fluffing the lines because the crowd was laughing so hard that it set him off too Also managed to get my hands on some sweet bootlegged merchandise outside the arena (which'll probably dissolve when I wash it, but still).

Seeing Muse next week, should be even better.

Just got my ticket in the mail for the Chicago Civic Opera's "Do-It-Yourself Messiah" in December. Now I just have to learn the darn thing before I show up (or trust everyone else to know it!)

Decently, but not in any way shape or form impressive. Between High School and college, I've been in choirs for about 6 years now, but mostly of the non-auditioned kind.

Fortunately, there is no requirement for this messiah other than enthusiasm.

His material was very good, especially the second half, but the venue was just too big for a comedian. You just end up watching it on the big screen behind him.

I saw Eddie back in September. For me the first half seemed better...the second half felt more like experimental material he had not quite finished/perfected yet. Still a great show. The theater I was in was almost too big if one was in the cheap seats (like me).

Oops! I didn't see Warren Buffett. I saw Jimmy Buffett. And when he came out to introduce Robert Earl Keen he was wearing the same shirt he has on in that linked photo. It was a great show. He played for about 2 1/2 hours.

Two weeks ago, I saw Jann Arden for the third time. We had to pass up seeing Loreena McKennitt the week before in favour of items from the "evenings we can afford" category.

We were sitting in a stadium's upper tiers (30 degrees from vertical). Until the house lights went down to let my eyes focus on only the band, it was quite difficult to avoid giving in to my annoying fear of falling.

Last night the family went to see Weird Al Yankovic. He is quite the entertainer. In between numbers he shows AlTV spoof interviews with people like Cher, K-Fed, Justin Timberlake, etc. At first I thought that was taking up time that I wanted to see live entertainment, but then I realized that he changes outfits for most of the songs. Plus, the videos were hilarious. He did a couple of medleys which had a verse or two of many of his classics, but he did the entire The Saga Begins, Yoda, White and Nerdy, (Don't Want to Be a) Canadian Idiot, You're Pitiful, Amish Paradise and Fat.

I went to see Something Corporate again over the weekend (this previous weekend.) Alison and I drove from SLC to Los Angeles for what will likely be their last concert. It was the best concert I've ever been to.

Again, I got the set list.

Also... I don't even remember the guy who I was during the times that this thread ran, but I do remember the events. It's a bit like reading a biography of someone pretending to be me.
