All right, I guess I'll come out and announce this now, even though I've only got one puzzle done so far.

~clears throat~

Come one, come all! Sign up for the the First (and Possibly Only) MAS* Mystery Mini-Hunt!

What's that, you ask? Well, settle down and I'll tell you.

For several years, MIT has held an annual "Mystery Hunt" which involves solving almost every kind of puzzle and metapuzzle imaginable in a race to find a special coin. Now it's the GL's turn! YAY!

Of course, it'll be a fairly small hunt (as the name suggests), consisting of only seven or eight regular puzzles forming one metapuzzle. And there won't be any coin. But whoever gets the final answer first does get to design the next hunt (just like in the MIT Hunt).

Teams are accepted and encouraged. If you wish to be randomly placed in a team, write a post to that effect. If you're pretty sure of who you want for teammates, post the usernames of all team members, along with a team name.

There will eventually be much more in the way of rules, but we'll cross that bridge when the iron is hot. Or whatever.

Again, the Hunt is probably a LONG way off, but feel free to sign up.

*Those are my initials, in case you were wondering.

I think the Texas team should dominate once again.

You might want to post a link in VSP when it gets close to starting.

/in, *strikes dramatic pose* Place me where the winds of hardship blow the strongest, for I live for challenge, I thrive on the mountains of adversity, I can leap those mountains in a single bound and shall leave my team-mates far behind, I am the wonderful, Magnificent and GLORIOUS who is shutting up now.

I think that I should just change my title to "King of Bull". What say the rest of you?

Umm, why would we need to sign up? IMO anybody that posts ontopic at any time should be considered as 'hunter'. Am i missing some point?

And don't get me wrong: i would like to have you take this as an encouragement and appraisal for what you're doing!

The Hunt won't take place in a thread, although if a team was so inclined, they could set up a private thread to swap notes. Hunters will receive puzzles and send answers via e-mail.

Do you want a specific team name, or should I stick with "The Puzzleanians?"

Yes, i'd like whatever name Kd wants us to have. I disagree completely w/ the "Puzzlanians" name since i started an european trend in order to oppose the Texas puzzlanians...

as for the 'ickle' part, i must admit i fail to understand...

"EuroTrash"? Well, if you say so...

Also, just to cut down on the amount of forum-hopping I have to do, could everyone please post in this thread from now on? Thanks.
