Diplomacy Showcase Game

Would any of you guys be interested in putting together a fake game, complete with emails and such? The idea would be to make the game as interesting and well played as possible, with fierce battles, surprising side-changes, etc. Possibly we would have one person do the "emails" (which would be posted in the thread so everyone could see what was going on) for a each country, but only for a limited amount of time and then switch (so no one gets too attached to a country and pushes for them to win). All moves and such would be discussed by everyone (or perhaps by a group not "playing a country" at that time) and determined based on the emails that are produced (long term plans could also be talked about, etc.). If someone wanted to show a new opening or whatever, that would be great. *~shrug~* Whatever, I thought it might be useful to new players to see different styles of diplomacy and tactics and such.

I am interested, albeit tentatively... I'd write for the countries going down and out. I have a myriad of ways to make playing a one/two unit country fun!

Another thing we could try is to have a "broadcast only" game where there is no negotiation per e-mail, everything is done in the game thread.

Yeah i also think we should try mikko's idea. For all of us not really good at the diplomming part of the game

Yeah, that was the plan, sorta. People would write emails, make it clear who they would be sent to in the game, but everyone gets to see them.
