2P Diplomacy 2 - dethwing vs. Sparhawk (Fall 2003)

This map is based on the standard map. I took the western "half" of the map (a line running through Nwy, Swe, Den, Kie, Mun, Swi, Mar, GOL, TYS, Tun), and then added another copy of that on the right half, flipped 180 degrees. This gives a point symmetric map with a lot of the same features as in standard Diplomacy.

Blue is sea, obviously; black is land. The grey spaces all act as canals; in other words, a fleet can enter from one side and leave from the other.

Sorry if the rectangular design looks bad; I was having trouble with Mapmaker, so I just did it in paint. I'll probably remake it at some point.

Each of you starts with two Home SCs (Lon and Par, but on different halves); you each get to choose a third Home SC. Send in your top three choices; if you have the same first choice, I'll go with your second, etc. After that's done, you can choose what units you want in your SCs to start with.

I have submitted my choices. I will be leaving Saturday morning for Canada for a week, so at that point this will have to be put on hold for a week (unless someone wants to make a move or two for me).

even if you dislike my map, i still think having visible orders offsets any inconveniences...

All right, could the players and the mod please vote on which map is better?



(btw, you were missing the sag name from the map, and now that it's there, it's misspelled (it's not 'gas' backwards))

And what are the conditions? 16/30 SCs? Any other winning criteria?

CB, calm down. I don't dislike your map, I just haven't bothered doing anything since Sparhawk is gone for a week. Even if I don't use your map(s), I intend to keep doing visible orders, I just haven't done them yet.

Btw, if you will look at my maps, you will notice that Swi is passable and a SC, and none of Swe/Den/Kie/Min are SCs; victory condition is 12/23.

Clarification: You can not move a fleet from Nwy/Ywn to Tun/Nut directly.

A sag had moved to aps, so dethy has these units: F NTH, A aps, A mar, A rap, A spa. It"d be sooo easy to change this if only... Bah, you decide how you want to mod. I"ll just shut up.

Out of curiousity -- are you resigning because you think I have a winning position or because of something else? I am wondering because while I think I have the upper hand I don't think I have a guaranteed win yet.
