The answer to my stumper was Martin Van Buren, BTW. I was under the impression that his last name was Van Buren rather than Buren, because he's usually referred to as "Van Buren" rather than "Buren" in biographies ( http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/mb8.html , for example.)
Then again, I could be wrong (I just noticed that presidential biographies at www.whitehouse.gov have the subject's initials in the URL, and the URL uses the initials MB). But it's not really material now, as the game's over. |
