Great! Be a libertarian, it's the only political view. Oh, and you should be against abortion, gun control of any sort and homosexual marriages and adoptions, and for capital and corporal punishment. I'll fill you in on the rest later.

Well, Nate...I take it that was a response to Luna warning never to listen to you...and it's a good thing to because those are some pretty heavy topics you introduce!!! But I'm sure what you hae to say is just as important just the same!!

You're not easily fooled, congratulations. You passed the test, welcome to the GL. Unless you're a loud mouthed libertarian, in which case I've got to tell you that we already have way too many of them. And don't be a quiet socialist, either. We have enough of those, too. Not too many democrats, last time I checked. (Alright, so I never checked, sue me.)

Oh, and mithrandir is messing with my mind because... umm... he's not.

I think we need two new GL terms:

______ - the inability of some people to lurk and learn for a little bit before jumping right into the middle of it all. (a common occurance, eh?)

_______ - The point at which a thread's discussion no longer has any resemblance to the topic that was originally intended.

How about "Duck Alert!"

If you don't understand, you didn't lurk for long enough.

Lepton:

I'm sorry that you feel that way Lepton...I'm not exactly someone who just sits by, passively, hoping that I'll find out the info I'm looking for. I usually just ask..you know, the "go get 'em" type...which is probably why, at 25, I am where I am today and I won't make apologies for it.

But, in this very tight knit community on G.L. I suppose a little 'research' first would do some good and would help not waste time - but as long as there are helpful individuals out there who don't mind welcoming someone who has the "inability to lurk and learn a little before jumping right into the middle of it all" (as you put it) then I'm just gonna keep trying to become familiar with this awsome site the best way I know how...thanks for the welcome, by the way...greatly appreciated!!

Actually NOONE will EVER be able to lurk enough to find all the stuff that is considered common knowledge around here. The relevant threads are huge and VERY numerous, so it's an almost impossible job to keep up with most of the discussions.

I won't appologise for not knowing some (amost all of the) stuff. It happened mainly because i started considering the investment (time and eye-damage or ink-use) useless, so i just didn't went to OT or VSP other than completely ocassionally, whenever i felt i needed some more puzzles than those on the front page. I just didn't want to make myself a huge table with addresses for the topics, because if i came back a week later, i could not find the thread i was interested in. And since the search engine got removed, i went to post only in EI and GLP. The occasional posts i make someplace else are due to links found at random in my browse through miscell. places.

But i started to divagate deliriously, so i'll get back to what i wanted to say: HAVE FUN! Do it almost any way you feel like, and if you can, help hightening the existing fun. Don't take the ocasional "flames" too hard, they're ment to make you laugh too. It's only your E-personality, in the end.

Hey now. I never lurked, I was just lucky enough to get on here at a time when there wasn't nearly as much going on. I still had a couple of common questions to ask, but no one seemed to care. I've never been flamed for asking the difference between an Icarian and a Daedalian. Granted, I do it sometimes, but IMHO, mine are much more easily distinguished as simply for comedic fun than others. I'd tell anyone politely, if the ratio of people who are funny to people who know the difference between an Icarian and a Daedalian member weren't so small (just kidding )

Not always a bad thing. Take my wife. Please. I mean, uh... Take AF's "Intelligence". Great thread. Would've been a great thread without the change in topic, although much shorter. And without it, how would people know I was twelve? =P
