This was inspired by Mackay's dating game in chat last night. And also word telling me I should make one. No signup is required. Just answer the questions.

Questions so far

1] If you could be any character from a book or movie, who would you be? Why?

2] It's our anniversary and you want to make it special. What would you have planned for the night?

3] What is your idea of the perfect day? [This doesn't not include a date with me, unless that's what you think would help to make your perfect day.]

4] Now that you've described your personal perfect day, tell me what would be the perfect vacation for the two of us?

5] We plan to watch a rented movie together. You go rent the movie. What genre movie do you pick out and why?

6] For my birthday present, you want to make me a tape / burn me a CD of songs that represent your feelings for me. What songs would you put on the tape / CD?

7] What is your favorite kind of pie?

8] Say we are living together and we both want a pet. What kind of pet would you suggest? Name type of breed, etc.

9] Say we've never met before and I'm sitting alone at a coffee shop, since I don't drink, but you notice me and want to go out on a date. What do you say / do to impress me enough to agree with your offer of a date?

10] I'm sick with the common cold. You take care of me like a good little boyfriend would. What would you do to help cure my cold?

11] Compare your kissing style to a musical instrument, if possible. List at least one reason for your choice.

12] I'm working late and you want to do something little to surprise me with when I get home. What's the surprise you've got waiting for me?

13] There's a band that I like playing tonight. You don't really like them but I want to go. What do you do?

My choice would be Drizzt Do'Urden, Drow Elf Ranger of Icewind Dale. He's very stoic, especially while enduring hardship, but he is still capable of fierce emotion. He's loyal to those he loves and would do anything for them, especially the human woman he has fallen in love with. He realizes that his agelessness means that she would grow old and die long before he would, and yet he is willing to enjoy the time he does have with a woman he cares for so deeply.

Stanley Yelnats.

I can relate with him. He's funny, he has bad luck. There's nothing really special about him. He just fits in, but he's confident on some sublte level that is barely conveyed to the audiance. He doesn't care what people think of him--which is very important to me, and, yet, he's nice to anyone who wants to be his friend while still valuing his privacey. Plus! His name is a palindrome. Now how cool is that.

I would want to be Boba Fett. He is always in control of a situation, and can plan for any problems, two things that I would wish for myself. Add to that the incredibly cool Mandalorian Armor, and his mysterious past, and you have one kick ass character.

A weekend in Vegas, at the Luxor, in the suites. I'll assume that we've been dating for a while, and we're past the point in our relationship when we have sleep overs.

I'd also get tickets to at least one of the shows (possibly more) of your choosing. At some point, we'd take a limo and go eat at one of the finer restaurants (paris if I get to choose.) We'd also take a Helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon.

Oh and lots of sex of course. That's what aniversaries are all about.

(2) Well, first thing I would do is sneak into your house early and cook you up a huge breakfast, with everything you could possibly want. I'd serve it to you in bed with a big bunch of chrysanthemums (they're so much happier than roses, really) and my anniversary presents. You could sit there in comfort opening your gifts while I feed you your breakfast. Oops, I spilled some... allow me to lick it up.....
After our somewhat messy breakfast (and "dessert", if you wish ) , we'd probably be needing a shower, so that will take up another hour or so while I scrub your back. Then we get dressed and hop in the limousine that I've rented for the day. We'd drive around for ages, playing cool music like They Might Be Giants, eating the snacky food that was waiting for us and helping ourselves to the minibar. When we got nice and tipsy, we'd start flipping people the ol' Hy Classic through the tinted windows, knowing they couldn't see us. Maybe moon them too.
Eventually, we'd end up in a deserted field somewhere on a blanket. We've already eaten a lot, but there's a picnic ready anyway, strawberries, champagne, the works. Another excuse for me to feed you, really. And while you're lying there, look at that cloud! It says "I love you!" That's right, I even got a skywriter.
A break from the romance for a second... think about it. We're drunk, we're in the country, in a field, nonetheless, and there's nobody else around. That's right - we're going to tip some cows! Once that's done, and I'm all bruised from not being able to escape from said cows in time, it's getting towards dark. We'd just have to go skinny-dipping in the nearby lake, and then call the limo to come and get us.
We'd drive to the flashiest hotel around and, being all wet and cold, we'd jump in the spa. More champagne? I don't know. It depends whether you need it or not. Either way, we'd stay in there for a while, and when we were done there, I'd pick you up in my arms and carry you over to the big, soft bed. I'd lay you down between the satin sheets and then jump in myself. The rest? It's all up to your imagination. I don't know how far you like to go on these things, and I, my dear, am a gentleman. I bid thee good night.

I'm assuming this is a major anniversary, not something dinky like two weeks or something. Quite honestly, I'll probably have forgotten until it's too late for reseverations of romantic things and such. So I'll drive up in my car, pick you up and we'll spend the day together, doing things we enjoy doing together, and just generally have more fun than a barrel of drunk monkeys. Dinner will be a moonlight picnic, and where I give you the perfect anniversary gift, which I did not forget

Ok, time for new questions. I'm going to be gone this next week so these questions should tide you over until my return next Friday.

What is your idea of the perfect day? [This doesn't not include a date with me, unless that's what you think would help to make your perfect day.]

Now that you've described your personal perfect day, tell me what would be the perfect vacation for the two of us?

We plan to watch a rented movie together. You go rent the movie. What genre movie do you pick out and why?

For my birthday present, you want to make me a tape / burn me a CD of songs that represent your feelings for me. What songs would you put on the tape / CD?

[And as RSA suggested I should ask ]

What is your favorite kind of pie?

I wake up and realize that i dont have a single thing to do. from there, i wing it.

Now that you've described your personal perfect day, tell me what would be the perfect vacation for the two of us?
well, we would fly into las vegas (because strangely it is the cheapest place to fly into), rent a van and head out of the desert to camp! no plans so unless you said differently we would head out to Utah's national parks (or on a gl member finding trip)

We plan to watch a rented movie together. You go rent the movie. What genre movie do you pick out and why?
I would pick out some kinda adventure/movie with a storyline...not exactly sure. probably just go to the rental place and wing it.

For my birthday present, you want to make me a tape / burn me a CD of songs that represent your feelings for me. What songs would you put on the tape / CD?
humorous answer...scary sounds of halloween.
serious answer...dunno. probably mostly arlo guthrie cause he actually knew what he was signing about.
[And as RSA suggested I should ask ]

What is your favorite kind of pie?
yeah! salmonberry-rhubarb...mmmmm..mmmmm served hot with a little bit of ice cream...mmmm

What is your idea of the perfect day? [This doesn't not include a date with me, unless that's what you think would help to make your perfect day.] Here, I'll combine the one thing I want to do the most, and the one place I want to go the most. A GL convention with ALL the GLers there (including you, so I guess you really are part of my perfect day ) - in NEW ZEALAND. Just hanging out with everyone who I feel like I know, even though I've never met them, would be perfect enough, but getting to do it in an awesome place like New Zealand would make it even better.

Now that you've described your personal perfect day, tell me what would be the perfect vacation for the two of us? See above answer.

We plan to watch a rented movie together. You go rent the movie. What genre movie do you pick out and why? I'd have to say horror. I find most horror movies highly amusing. If you feel the same way, we can laugh through it together, and if you find them scary, you can snuggle up to me for comfort....

For my birthday present, you want to make me a tape / burn me a CD of songs that represent your feelings for me. What songs would you put on the tape / CD? Wow, this one is hard. The one song I'd put on there for you would be "My Happiness", by Powderfinger.

I see your shadow on the street now
I hear you push through the rusty gate
Click of your heels on the concrete
Waiting for a knock coming way too late
It seems an age since I've seen you
Countdown as the weeks trickle into days

So you come in and put your bags down
I know there's something in the air
How can I do this to you right now
If you're over there when I need you here

My happiness is slowly creeping back
Now you're at home
If it ever starts sinking in
It must be when you pack up and go

It seems an age since I've seen you
Countdown as the weeks trickle into days
I hope that time hasn't changed you
All I really want is for you to stay

What is your favorite kind of pie? My Gran makes the best apple pie in the whole world. I'll have to go for that option. Although "Not RSA"'s pie sounds pretty good too.

2) It's our anniversary and you want to make it special. What would you have planned for the night?

Every anniversary is more special to me than the last. Another year with you makes me happier than you can imagine. After a night of wining and dining, dancing and moonlit strolls by the bay, the perfect night would end by the fire, wrapped together in a warm blanket, listening to the birthday present i recently gave to you.

3) What is your idea of the perfect day? [This doesn't not include a date with me, unless that's what you think would help to make your perfect day.]

How could a day be pefect without you? It doesn't have to be a date, just as long as you're there with me, as a friend, enjoying a day of wonderful fun So my perfect day...would involve a butler so that i wouldnt' have to worry about the house or any sort of day-to-day maintenance . After waking up beside you (which is all i need for any day to be wonderful )It would probably start with a leisurely breakfast in bed, watching cartoons (TMNT anyone ) and waking up to the sun shining through the windows. After breakfast, we shower (together if you like ) and dress before heading out in our new sports car. after we'd both driven it through the funnest curves and turns we could find, we'd stop at the store to buy supplies for a picnic in the park A nice blanket, some sandwich ingredients, some light wine. So off we go to the park for our picnic in the shade, sharing food and laughter. After we're through eating, I'd read you a story I wrote about you . The main character would play the drums, and she would be uber smart and beautiful too, which is the perfect complement for her magical powers
After lunch has settled, we'll go over to the big soccer field where we'll join in a game of Ultimate frisbee, the best game in the world!! After running around crazily and generally enjoying the activity, we could take a dip in the pond to cool off After we get done, we could lay out in the sun to dry off and enjoy the warmth of the day. As the lazy afternoon wears on, we would drive up to an overlook and watch the sunset, then wait for the stars to come out and try to see who can catch the first ones There would be a shooting star so that i could wish to always remember the great time we've had today, and maybe sneak a kiss while you're watching it
After we get home that night, I would gaze into your eyes, shining with happiness and enjoyment, and know that this has been the best day of my life, spent with someone so amazing, and even the ending is sweet, falling asleep next to you, just as i woke and found your serene face. Pure Life.

4) Now that you've described your personal perfect day, tell me what would be the perfect vacation for the two of us?

I've always wanted to visit Ireland. To find the hidden places where the magic lies, and enjoy the greenery of places long lost to civilisation. The quiet that can only be found in the sounds of nature and the trickle of a stream through rocks both small and large. A small quaint cottage in the countryside that's a warm and dry haven from storms or cold, but still a part of the olde world, in it's own way. A quest to find fairy lands, and the ambience that is Eire.

5) We plan to watch a rented movie together. You go rent the movie. What genre movie do you pick out and why?

My favorite kind of movie is generally placed under Action/Adventure, but it has a style that blends Adventure with Romance and humor to create a Movie for all moods. Two of my favorite movies like this are "The Three Musketeers" (The one with Charlie Sheen in it) and "The Mask of Zorro." You can laugh, cry, and cheer all in one night.

6) For my birthday present, you want to make me a tape / burn me a CD of songs that represent your feelings for me. What songs would you put on the tape / CD?

"Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls always comes to mind, as does "Breathing" from Lifehouse. Both of them are full of emotion, as well as the lyrics which show that I'm all about you.

7) What is your favorite kind of pie?
Can i say cheesecake? It's almost like pie, right? It's sooooo good. especially with strawberry topping... mmmmm. rich and creamy, cool and firm, it's the bestest!!

What is your idea of the perfect day? [This doesn't not include a date with me, unless that's what you think would help to make your perfect day.]
Sleeping in until noon. Waking up, next to someone who I'm in love with, to breakfast already prepared by someone else. Bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns... maybe some sausage. Later that day, we would go for a walk. The rain would be lightly sprinking, and it would be about seventy-three degrees. A movie would be next on the agenda. (The entire day would be spent with the person who I love, as I always have more fun when I'm with that special someone.) A romantic comedy that we both enjoy. That evening, we would go out for dinner. I would have a steak with baked potato, she would have whatever makes her happy. Both meals would be prepared perfectly, with so much taste that steak sauce would only serve to make the steak taste worse. Then back home where we would fall asleep in each others arms watching reruns on nick at night. Oh, there would be some sexing too, and a lot of making out, because no day is "good" let alone "perfect" unless some really good sex is invovled.

Now that you've described your personal perfect day, tell me what would be the perfect vacation for the two of us?
Going to Vegas. Winning the Jackpot. Visiting all of the attractions. (hey that would be perfect... you didn't say realistic )

We plan to watch a rented movie together. You go rent the movie. What genre movie do you pick out and why?
Depends on the date. If it's our first date, than Labyrinth would be the movie of choice. I like the movie because it's funny, but you can talk through most of it, so you get to know each other a lot faster, and the atmosphere isn't akward. If we'd been dating for a while, then it would probably be a comedy or an action flick. Comedy because it's always fun to laugh. Action flick because it excites both people, and then fun stuff happens.

For my birthday present, you want to make me a tape / burn me a CD of songs that represent your feelings for me. What songs would you put on the tape / CD?
Angry boy hate music of the indie persuision. aka emo. It's the music that describes how I feel about life in general, and there are a lot of songs that say "I love you, and I'm vulernable, so please don't hurt me." I fear getting hurt again.

What is your favorite kind of pie?
Bannana Cream. Fucking mmmm.

I'd be happy with whatever you picked - I love animals. But if it were my choice, I'd have to say I'm essentially a dog person. I especially love big dogs, so we'd get the puppy of a large dog. Probably a Labrador, because they have the cutest puppies in the whole world, and they grow up to be intelligent, obedient and loyal companions. Did I mention they have the cutest puppies ever? Besides, I wouldn't inflict my love of Rottweilers on you this early in our relationship. (Seriously though. Those dogs have a bad reputation. )

Oops, clicked "submit". If you don't like dogs, I would easily settle for a cat. As long as it isn't Siamese (moody, temperamental things they are, and I had a bad experience with one) or anything that leaves too much hair around. I can't really narrow it down to a breed, because I pretty much like all cats, and because I'm not so heavily into them, I don't see so much of a difference between breeds.

Other than that, maybe we could get a turtle. Or a python! And some guinea pigs. Which we could then feed to the python. I don't know. Pet-buying is too much of a compromise for me to be able to make a decision on my own. Only one thing: no small, yappy dogs. Unless they're python food...

Ok, here's the situation. I'm going to eliminate players in this game. It's a lot easier for me to not have to gather everyone's answers and try to decide on them all at once.

But this elimination means that no one new can join the game after eliminations are announced. It is still an open game until my elimination deadline. Players who have previously answered questions can still answer ones they may have left unanswered. It is better for yourself to answer them ASAP. They also must be answered before the elimination. The deadline will be one week from today: Sunday, August 17, 2003 at 4pm EST.

Right now, I'm compiling the answers I've recieved. Happy playing, everyone.

I like both dogs and cats. As a first pet, it would have to be a dog. A cat isn't a good first pet. There will be problems when we try to bring a dog into the mix, and we could end up spending a lot of money when the old cat rips the new dogs retnas out. (I speak from experiance.) I'd want a larger dog, really big, but friendly. Breed doesn't matter, I prefer mutts to purebreeds. Purebreeds tend to have problems becase they all mate with siblings. I'm pretty easy going. I would like to get a sharpae, but I doubt they'd be a lot of fun...

8) Say we are living together and we both want a pet. What kind of pet would you suggest? Name type of breed, etc.
I've always been partial to cats and turtles. Cats are cute and cuddly and also independent. I'd prefer a short-hair breed, but other than that i'm not choosy
Turtles are just uber cool, especially the little ones you can keep in a box. I think they're called box turtles.
Although, Iguanas make really cool pets and are easy to take care of.
Out of the three, though, i'd probably go with the cat. It's more difficult to cuddle reptiles

¡¡Pero cuando hay un loro que habla Español es mas divertido!!

Now that Ramon's answer is in, I can ask the next question. This one will definetly take some thought and need some creativity in it.

Say we've never met before and I'm sitting alone at a coffee shop, since I don't drink, but you notice me and want to go out on a date. What do you say / do to impress me enough to agree with your offer of a date?

9) ¡Ah, Señorita, usted resplandece con un calor sincero que cubre usted como una aureola, y usted hace los ojos chispean como diamantes bajo un océano verde-azul!

Excuse me, Miss? I just thought i should tell you that you make a fella dizzy giving off as much beauty as you do. You may not know it, but you make every head turn and make every guy wish he were your coffee, just to be closer to you. You've made my day, and my year, just by being here
