Hmm, I agree that George and Faith are acting very suspicious. I still believe Mary Black so I will vote: George Bishop Cult scum.

I don't like the idea of lynching any Bishop, but if it is going to be done, I would be much more comfortable lynching Faith than George. George has mentioned the same win condition that I have several times, while Faith hasn't mentioned it once, that I can remember. I'm going to have to vote: Faith Bishop not because I want her lynched, but because I trust George more. Bah...

Well, I certainly didn't expect this ending.

With 2 votes each, George Bishop and Mary Black are dragged to be lynched by their respective accusers, with Hiram Bishop waving his arms about in a confused manner. Robert Osborne places a noose around George's neck, while Faith Bishop attaches one to Mary Black. Mary mutters something heard only by God ("Father, forgive them."), while George grumbles about his family needing to protect him.

They're lynched in a relatively undramatic fashion. Hey, it can't all be exciting.

Anyway, the remaining members of the Town check Mary Black's house, and find stacks of bibles, notes, and various protection devices (holy water, garlic, etc., she wasn't sure what worked on Witches). In addition, they find the final Certificate of Judge-ness [npos]can't remember if I ever described anything about the Judges, so I'll blatantly steal from minvitational 2[/npos].

On the other hand, they find nothing at all interesting at George's house. He was just an innocent Farmer.

More confused than ever, the three (well, two, as you'll see) wander off to sleep. The final Cult member, however, returns to the woods, retrieves the ceremonial dagger, which the Cult had not used the entire game, and stabs the other two in their sleep.

Congratulations to Robert Osborne (and the rest of the Cult).

Role information:

The Cult has the option of Recruiting or Killing, as I anticipated them running out of possible recruits. Only "normal" Farmers could be recruited originally (this included the Bishops and the Shop Owners; they didn't make night choices, even though they had abilities).

The Bishops were told that their win condition was that a Bishop survive, whether as Farmer or Cult (or Witch, actually, as you'll see below, but I hadn't considered that possibility when I sent roles). I never considered whether this goal would change if one was recruited, and it never happened anyway.

The Witches each had a specific ability (spell). Two could kill, one possess, one reveal (investigate), one protect. They could use two spells per night, but no one could use one on consecutive nights. When a Witch died, the remaining Witches also had the option of learning the dead Witch's spell rather than using a spell (one full day/night cycle after the death). When they were down to one, I gave the last Witch the option of learning to recruit; at that point, I think there was only one player that could've been recruited.

I noticed late in the game that in the role description I gave Mary Black, I think I worded it "you are protected from evil spells" or something similar (though I may be remembering wrong). If that's the case, I could have made her recruitable, which would've been interesting. Anyway, I didn't, and the Cult did try to recruit her early in the game. About the second night I decided she was too strong, but that may have been because she decided to protect all the Bishops right off.

Any other questions? I'll try to clean up the spreadsheet a bit and post it soon.

Abigail English here (why do I always survive until endgame only to get lynched to help the Town?)

Normally, I'd say the Cult got lucky, but anyone who lynches Mary Black deserves to be stabbed by a ceremonial dagger. How do you figure she's suspicious in any way?

I think you referred to a lynching key back when we lynched Rebecca Parker.

Okay, when I got killed and was revealed to be a Farmer, who thought I was either JDTAY or radwulf?

Personally I have to congratulate IS on skill at using my first round random vote / in-character posting to his advantage.

Well, I was Arthur Wilkins, paranoid cop, forced to either reveal role or be lynched first day. *grin* I later came in as a replacement, I took over Giles Wilkins, cult member, killed by witches. A fun game to watch.

Well, I would have been willing to lynch Mary to set it up so that there was no way there wasn't going to be a Bishop at the end. I wasn't willing to commit to it early in the day, however, because I was afraid of exactly the backlash we got - the other two members of the town simu-lynching a member of the family. I have to admit, I was then just expecting either a Bishop or Bishop/Cult win as I figured that the cult didn't have kill powers as they hadn't been using them.
I found Mary Black suspicious just because she did seem so powerful and it seemed like she kept adding powers to her list.

Faith, George, sorry that the attempt to save was last minute - I didn't have my password at work, so I couldn't log on as Hiram until I got home. Faith, I was more willing to have you be lynched then George just because I knew that George was either cult or had the same win conditions I did. I was worried that you might lynch me instead of Robert going for a town win instead of a family win. George would have either gone for the family win or survived (which as I read it was a win for me - the email said whatever side they are on)

Thanks for letting me in at the last minute mith.

- Jalyn

George Bishop replacement here...

Trying to lynch Mary wasn't as silly as it seemed, though in retrospect I never considered if Robert was the last remaining Cult member.

Since I was trying to win the game as a Bishop family member first, townie second, I honestly believed that either or both Faith and Hiram had become cult, meaning the only win for me would be to lynch both Mary and Robert. I just happened to go with Mary first over Robert only because Faith did.

I should've come clean and asked Hiram and Faith if they were Cult, cause either way I'd have stuck with them and voted as they did for a town/cult Bishop victory...which may have caused us to gang up on Robert. Oh well, it was fun nonetheless.

Mary Black here. I can't believe we lost when we were sooo close. I can't believe I protected the Bishops first and got backstabbed by them . Fun game nevertheless.

I never expected this either.

So how did the Shop Owners' lists work, anyway?

And FYI, we did try to kill Mary Black, but I'm glad now that it didn't work.

John English here...

I do not agree that the cult was really lucky. The strategy of recruitment only made the town hesitate whether or not any cult was alive. It worked well.
Compliments to Robert Osborne in completing our mission.

Compliments to the mod for this game, it was a nice setup.

CF, why did you go after Arthur Wilkins and me? We probably would have been lynched the next day. (Not that I minded. I really hate getting lynched when I'm innocent, and was glad to get killed off. It also freed me to mod.)
