Minotaur,
It's been mentioned in several threads that some people are having problems with their browers not refreshing pages, resulting in double posts and just plain not-being-able-to-read-the-replys-to-a-post-it-ness. See the Sex Thread and the unregistered joker Thread for some more descriptions of the problem. I know there's other threads this has come up in too, but I can't recall them at this time. Some people have even tried cleaning out the internet cache and they still have problems. Is this something you can look into when you have a moment? Thanks.

i haven't had these problems with the refresh thing, so i didn't really pay much attention at first.
but now i'm wondering where (what page) these people are trying to refresh.
i always refresh from the main page of the discussion forums. that updates everything within the forums for me. i have had no problems.
in the past i tried to refresh while in one of the forums, e.g. Visitor Submitted Puzzles. when i did, refresh didn't do the job. |

I've noticed that most of the people that have problems are at work etc...
I wonder if their companys have cache servers and thats what their problem is??
the only thing is that Murray said he could see some of them, but not others, a cache server would effect every page. |

Well, personally I have problems at home, with AOL 4.0 running. It happens once a topic goes past the first page. That is, the first time the 2nd page loads is how it stays; I can't see any new posts after that. I've tried both refreshing on page two, and refreshing on page one and then going to the second page, neither seems to fix this. Also, I should add, this only seems to happen to 1 out of 4 threads that reach the 2nd page, the rest are fine.
I have found a way to get around this. I can open up another browser on my computer and refresh works there, but to do so is a mild annoyance.
Also, other people seem to have similar problems so perhaps this warrants further investigation. |

| I haven't experienced any problem using aol 5.0 at home (at least in regards to GL refreshments - connection speed and busy signals are another matter). |

not-being-able-to-read-the-replys-to-a-post-it-ness. VERY CORRECT. Happened to me too often. (about 10% of my posts)
Some of them just lasted only a few minutes (the first of them).
And you ARE true about the refresh thing. Doesn't quite work... AND i did mention on one topic that i even erased the whole cache. Now I did restart the computer on the next day. The topic (Off-topic ; CrystyB needs grammar help...) has now 2 MORE posts (other than mines) and it didn't load allright...
PLEASE see what you can do, Kevin. (or would you rather be called "Mino"?)
P.S. In the Review Topic window down below (which btw is NOT available when editing - why?) does the browser rescan for the desired page or just checks with its cache? My posts are not available there either.

OH MY GOD! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I CAN'T READ AN EDITED MESSAGE CORRECTLY!!! I suppose this problem SHOULD REALLY be looked into...
Thank you for everything you will try to do about it (in anticipation) !

CrystyB, I replied to your comments about the refresh problem and cannot see my repsonse. I've tried clearing out history and temp files in Explorer but to no avail. Re the comment above about work machines, my experience is the opposite. I had the refresh problem on my home PC so logged into my 'working from home PC (if you see what I mean) and could see my posts.

I'm at a new job now. Whoopee! (Hmmm. I suppose I should withhold my elation until I'm sure everything works, although I've been here before and things worked fine then.)
A note, on Friday (last day at previous job) I was having troubles on the crossword clues thread so I tried going to a coworker's computer and had the same problem, so I guess it was some sort of network cache thing.
So that's my story. Exciting, wasn't it? |

Okay. Now it's happening to me at home using aol 5.0. No matter what page I refresh, the post I just entered isn't showing up. |

| I always have to refresh the page to see my posts. I'm probably going to have to refresh this one to see it as well. |

| The refresh problem went away for a few days but now it's back again. Anyone know what's causing it ?? |
