Not mentioning any names (I'm gonna sneeze .. a-a-acrystyb), some people have a bit of a tendency to arbitrarily delete stuff. This is fine when it is their own stuff, and I suppose the worm registering debacle is something worm is going to have to risk by staying unregistered. But being able to delete a thread, even when it contains other peoples posts, doesn't seem right - you're deleting other peoples writing.

Is there any way to stop people being able to delete posts that have been replied to by others?

i don't have to take that risk anymore, Tom

i agree with you about "...being able to delete a thread, even when it contains other peoples posts, doesn't seem right - you're deleting other peoples writing."

at the same time i think there are times when a thread needs to be deleted. i think crystyb's "worm you are now registered" thread was one of those.

she was using the thread to notify me about registering the name since she couldn't e-mail me. once we settled things, i didn't have any problem with here deleting it and i was the only one whose opinions she could really be squelching. i was actually glad she deleted it b/c people were ruining the thread...not with their opinions...but with their posts. i think you know what i mean.

the last paragraph should be changed to something like (i mean i wanted to change it to the next form )

quote:
HE was using the thread to notify me about registering the name since HE couldn't e-mail me. once we settled things, i didn't have any problem with HIM deleting it and i was the only one whose opinions HE could really be squelching. i was actually glad HE deleted it b/c people were ruining the thread...not with their opinions...but with their posts. i think you know what i mean.
