Umm, what the heck? I haven't checked the forums in awhile (sorry!) and I'm going to be away from Friday the 18th to Saturday the 26th. I'll try to participate for the next two days, but after that I'll be silent for awhile. I just wanted to let you know in case Mackay didn't just kill me.

As you have noticed the deadline is quite a while ago. However, I have a problem.

With so many needing to be replaced, I'm not sure if the game can survive, I can kill them off or keep trying to replace them, or just let them sit some more. Or I can kill the game completly. It's up to you.

If to judge by Twin Peaks mafia, it's often better to kill a game if you have to let inactive players in (ie can't find replacements).

Until further notice, I officially declare this game to be defunct. Once upon a time, finding replacements was easy, however now I suspect that the market has been flooded, and the demand isn't as great as the supply. It's a pity, I had some fun fill-in roles worked out.

The Prestidigitator was the Town’s amateur magician. He was immune to investigation attempts and immune to the first attempt on his life. There was also a 50% chance that he received information on anyone who targeted him. In addition, he had a nifty one-time ability that is probably too powerful: he could at any one night during the game receive a list of all the night’s targets in random order (i.e. Bob, Joe, Luna, Antrax, Ysabel.) He could then rearrange the list, and I would assign the new targets to each role. If he switched Bob and Joe, for example, what should have happened to Bob would now happen to Joe and vice versa.

You can chose a target each night, like a normal doctor. If that target gets attacked you protect him/her. The "spin" however, is that if that target does not get attacked, he or she dies. You may choose not to go out if you want.

Duffman
Creates awareness of Duff. Gets one person per night drunk. They will be unable to talk the following day (they CAN vote). Is on the town's side, but is causing havoc. Each time he gets someone drunk, they have a 20% chance of discovering who he is. If he gets the same person drunk 4 nights in a row, they die from alcohol poisoning. If they discover him before they die, Duffman can no longer get them drunk. Nights that Duffman gets people drunk do not have to be consecutive.

My beloved COWARD:

The coward is on the town's side. Sends a target every night, which indicates which house he's hiding at. If the mafia target him, he survives (having hidden). However, if the mafia target the house he's hiding in, he dies in addition to the person there (doc protection can help or not, according to you. Also, cop investigations can work or not, again your call). In addition to that, he's notified whether or not the person he's hiding at went out at night or not (ie, has that person made a choice this night). The nature of the nightly work is unknown to the coward.

Apu runs the Kwik-E-Mart, and is used to being robbed at gunpoint, thus he
is 75% immune to night attacks. If he is attacked at night he is
hospitalized and cannot talk or vote the following day. If he is attacked
again the next night (after being hospitalized) there is only a 33.3% chance
of him living. If he does live, he does not spend another day in traction.
Since he has a security camera in the Kwik-E-Mart, if he makes it out of the
hospital alive, his killer will be attacker will be revealed to him the
night after he is in the hospital.

Rube Goldberg, Mayor
Rube Goldberg, the Inventor and Mayor, had a number of functions. On one hand, he was extremely powerful. He possessed a transmogrifying gun he could use every other night, several smoke bombs that blocked a player’s role for a night, and a couple fake pistols that forced people to state an allegiance (Mafia, Town, Neutral.) He could use one of these per night or give one to another player anonymously. His vote also counted double as he was the Mayor. On the other hand, this made him a Mafia target, and once he died the Lynching Machine fell into disrepair...at the end of every lynching there was an X% chance that a random voter would die, and X rose by 0, 5, 10, or 15 every night (randomly, with a bias towards the lower end.)

Mafia PO Officer - Master of False Role Claims - If he has claimed a role, then almost any investigation after that point will get a result consistent with his role claim, and if he is killed, then that role will be printed temporarily. (Maybe 48 hours after the kill the "mistake" is discovered and correct role printed.)
