Therefore I'll point out that this site is geared towards intelligent people. This forum specifically is used to play a game that you seem to have no grasp of. If you wanna play your game, I suggest you go to www.mafiascum.net and use the boards there, rather than here. Also read the information that is found on that website to learn about the type of mafia we play.

Yes, we play mafia games here. Yes, you may mod a mafia game. No, noone is going to sign up for a game with a newbie who just posts one sentence. Noone will on mafiascum.net either. You may be the world's most interesting and experienced mafia mod, but we don't know you. We also play by a set of rules. No, you are not bound to those rules, we've played some pretty odd games of mafia, but you can't just jump in here and first post say "join my mafia".

Stay a while. Play a game. We'd like to get to know you better. Then you can post that you're starting a mafia game, and it's going to involve X players. For your first mafia, I'd recommend a mini mafia, of 12 players. The most players you could get here would be 30, same with mafiascum... the boards aren't big enough to support a 100-player game.

Last warning - if you annoy a lot of people, they're not going to sign up for your game. We've had a lot of new members come on, get people annoyed, but then become a productive little lyncher (or killer) in the mafia games. Don't give up on us. Give us a chance, and we'll give you a chance.

goodness, you want "at most" 100 players? Let us say something strange happens...and you get 100 people to sign up. Don't your realize that this would be H-E-L-L to mod? I believe the most ever a game had was about 40 people. And this was done by someone with a great amount of expirence and a co-mod. Strangely, I don't see anybody signing up. and, on the side, I bet that either this will die or a mod will lock it within two weeks.

But after being harsh, I can be nice too.

Here is what to do...
1.go to the site that Neo showed you. (you have to click on the link; I know im obnoxious)
2. play a mini game.
3. play a few normal games and more mini game as you die (dying is a fact of the game)
4. continue playing more games, consider modding a mini (sign up when you understand how the site runs)
6. The number five should always be deleted from lists.
7. If you want to play mafia on the GL, repeat steps 1-5. Mind you , this site is about puzzles, not mafia. Expect the players to A)reject newbies. B)be smartasses C) find everything laughable. D) hide things from you because we can
8. at this point, you have played for atleast 9 months and don't need to follow my boring, rude, and fairly useless instructions.

I get the feeling this is all a big misunderstanding. Look how (s)he says that (s)he's still looking for someone to play the godfathers. I think it's meant to be a mafia role play rather than a mafia game as we know it.

So you read this site on a game completely different from the Mafia game we play, decided to come here, and without reading anything, posted a dozen times about how you want to play your game, all the while offending some people on AIM by immediately asking sexual orientation because you hate homosexuals, and you really expect people to flock to your game and play?

You know what? The mafia game on "mafiasim" sounds pretty fun, from the few pages of it I read. If you at all sounded like someone I'd want to play a game for, if you started this up in the proper forum, if you had a proper introduction with rules clearly stated and the game play outlined, I might sign up for it.

But you don't, you sound like someone who would start this game without knowing how to properly do it, and once your own personal "Spruce Goose" lumbered its way into the air, the first time it hit a snag, you'd whine an awful lot, and then abandon the game.

Another thing? From what I see on mafiasim, they have an advanced program with good graphics to keep track of your goons, who they hit, your revenue, expenses, each character's status, bribery, black market, cartel, family, household, arson specialists, influence, suspicion, respect, funds, courts, banks, newspapers, territory, guards, punks... the list goes on and on. How do you expect to keep track of all this? Why would people play mafiasim on here, using a messageboard, when there's a graphical site that provides everything a player needs?

Now that I've said all that, do you think that you're prepared, capable, and ready to run a message board version of this, and it will be fun for the players? Then prove it. I'll even start you on the road - prove it in the proper forum. And your first post will mean the difference between getting people interested, or getting people laughing.

not for one of our regular mafias. We have a hard enough time keeping players active in a mini game of 12 players. Imagine the lurking and number of players that would stop posting in a 100 player game.

The game pimpj was talking about was a completely different game, and apparently he's lost interest as well.
