No, instead I'll put the squeeze on Lime. (I've been dying to say that anyway.)

Vote: Werebear

Let's see if limes make a good carpet stain. If not, Taf gets the town -- or, at least, the Boddy Mansion. In any case, it'll be over. Good game, everybody.

Well, all will be revealed once Courky makes the final post...even though I already know. I couldn't resist; I had to ask her.

*cheers for Courky at a masterful game and wildly waves "Go Spourk!" banner*

No. Limes can be a good way of getting stains out of carpet. Slime would make a good carpet stain. And from the information flying around in this threads recent debates, there's several of those left in this game. Not that I would know, of course. I've been dead too long

(yeah, I edited - I'm no longer playing )

The Cops
ralphm - Miss Infrared - tracker
macnut - Mr. Ultra Violet - cop who received specific roles
Leonidas - Ms. Peacock - Head cop (had 2 extra night choices). Became cult on night 8.
casinopete - Mr. Cyan - regular cop

The Chooser
SK - Mr. Gray - got to choose life of good or evil (would join masons or cultists, respectively). Chose life of good.

The Killers
DP - Mr. Black - SK
DMTsurel - Colonel Mustard - Vigilante - NEVER used his ability, despite being given 6 shots

The Mafia
Taf - Miss Scarlet
Green Crayons - Mr. Apple
Beartalon - Mrs. Wine
Porro - Major Blood

The Recruiters
PSO/Spart - Reverend Green - Mason recruiter
Kd/DP/ref - Professor Plum - Cult recruiter

The Docs
Polotet - Mrs. White - Head doc - one additional night protection.
jadesmar - Mr. Beige - regular doctor

The Townies
Planky - Mr. Brown
Vegt/querc - Miss Orange
Chuck - Profesor Aqua-marine
Mog - General Pink
mole - Admiral Turquoise
Hitchhiker - Ms. Indigo
Werebear - Mr. Lime
Neo - Madam Pumpkin
mikehart - Mr. Lemon
RE/PBuG - Miss Violet
Darkblade - Professor Gunmetal
Orb - Mrs. Navy

The Masons
PSO/Spart
jadesmar - night 1
Darkblade - night 2
Sk - night 3
Neo - night 3
Orbiting - night 6

the Cultists
KD/DP/ref
RE/PBuG - night 2
Chuck - night 6
Hitchhiker - night 7
Leonidas - night 8

As you can see, there was a 3 night window where the cult had the worst luck trying to recruit. Not that the masons were doing that great towards the end...

The Notes
None of the cops could detect Miss Scarlet.

The names Mr. Apple and Mrs. Wine were chosen for their ambiguity. I didn't want the mafia being screwed over what I thought was a rather obvious pattern, so I gave two of them the ability to throw doubt by saying "Well, apples are green, too." or "What about white wine?"

Miss Infrared was named because of her ability to see things at night. I thought it was clever...
Since I had Miss Infrared, I needed to have Mr. Ultra Violet. I tried to make their abilities similar but opposite.

Mr. Gray is obviously ambiguous - is he good (white) or evil (black)? He's in between - so he's gray.

Obviously the mafia were all shades of red - the color of blood.

Colonel Mustard, being the only board game meber to have military experience, would be on the side of good - but would have a gun to pick off any evil doers.

When Leonidas checked DMTsurel (Mustard) he received an "apears innocent" because, while he was innocent, he did have the potential to kill innocents.

The cops and docs worked like normal except for their extra choices.

Except for Taf, the regular mafiosos had a 50% chance of going to the targets room to do the killing - with at least one person needed to go. After they were all dead, Taf went. Not that it mattered - the tracker was dead, and even if he weren't, he would never see Taf leave his room. You don't get to be a Godmother without being sneaky.

And now for my favorite part of the game: the cultists and masons.

Both the cultists and the masons could recruit in a similar fashion. Each had an equal chance of finding the room of their intended target - 5/6. If they didn't find the room, then that was it. However, if they did find the room, then the role of the target became important.
If a recruiter attempted to recruit a person with killing abilities, even if those abilities had been used, all of the cultists or masons names would be placed in a hat, with the recruiters name entered twice. A blank piece of paper would also be entered. One piece of paper would be drawn and that person would be killed. The recruitment would fail. For the masons Colonel Mustard would not try to kill them - he would become a mason.

My reasoning behind this was that a killer would have training with a weapon - or at least practice. I also pictured the recruiter knocking on the door at night with all his masons or cultists standing around. A killer wouldn't want to join whatever cause (except the vigilante mason) and would try to attack those recruiting him or her. As the person knocking on the door, the recruiter had a greater chance of death.

If the masons targeted a cultist, or vice versa, and assuming they foudn the room, they had a nice little equation.

P + .5P + 1 = X __ rounded up.

Where P is the number of members in the group and X is the number of total papers added to the hat. Everyone had their name written on one piece of paper, with the recruiters name entered only once. All the rest of the papers are left blank. Again, a paper is drawn and whoever's name is on it dies.

My logic behind this is that the recruiting groups don't have any weapons experience, and would be really bad at attacking someone trying to recruit them.

If both the masons and the cultists targeted the same person, a coin would be flipped to see who got dibs. Winner would then have to find the room, etc. etc.

Of all of this, the masons and cultists were only told that they had a 1/6 chance of failing a recruitment and somewhat of a chance of dyin, even from seemingly harmless people.

All of these extra deaths from mason and cult targetings were revealed in the morning as people found hanging in the Hall.

ref was found dead with both rope burns and bludgeoning wounds because he targeted taf and was the lucky person to have his name drawn, as well as being the lucky target of the mafia.

Well, that was fun, wasn't it?
~marks another win in his notepad~

Thank you, Courk for modding very smoothly a not so easy game, with many choices. Congrats on the excellent mason/cult idea. I have to admit I had understood almost nothing of this whole plan, even though it saved me in the end. Excellent setting and an enjoyable game...

Thank you fellow mafias Green Crayons, Beartalon and Porro. I think you can be proud of our result, which is yours as much as it is mine. Especially Green Crayons helped me pass a very difficult spot of the game, where none of us had claimed and I had not been cleared yet by Leo. I'll repeat that our "conversations" at night proved you a fine mafia player.

Congrats to Leonidas for a very good game. You lost it right there in the end, pal. Believe me, I thought everything was lost when you voted for me. I knew I couldn't convince them I wasn't Scarlett, so I convinced them that you were cult. I was helped indeed by the fact that in most games the cult can kill at night. So, when they knew you were cult, they thought that you were only trying to end this day easily (like you should have). Our final clash was one of my most enjoyable mafia moments.

Werebear: I'm sorry for my unacceptable behaviour, taking it out on you when you'd done nothing at all. If this weren't a mafia game, I'd have deleted my post. Seriously though, that "bet" trick is excellent...

Thanks to all the other players for participating.

Crap, I forgot my favorite tidbit. The night before Mr. Beige, doctor died, Taf and GC were plotting names to have one claim and the other counter claim. The name they were leaning towards was Mr. Beige. That would have been SO iunteresting.

~marks another defeat in his notepad~

Well, you know, Taf, there was no way I could have won the endgame.
I started the day convinced there were two killers out there, in addition to the cult(!).
But Werebear's clever, pro-town gambit convinced me he was actually playing for the Town (he was the only one, of course, but hey, you've got to do what you've got to do...').

And there was no way I could have convinced him or any townie of the sad truth: the cult was not sending in choices for night kills. The rope burns would not convince him. The voting patterns, although clearly pointing at a cult with no night kill, would not convince him. And I had absolutely no clue myself as to why the GF would be SO powerful. I'm happy Werebear did not accept my bet. I was convinced you had bonus kills.

So my apologies, Taf - you were not over-equipped after all, and you played extremely well, - but I've already told you so

(To the Town: you should feel proud of having been pro-town in such a difficult game for the good side: DP as the SK, a recruiting cult, a clever mafia, and Taf is... tough).

Courk, hmmm, when is your next game ?

Great game! Ah, so close! For a brief moment last day I though the cult, severely cramped by that 3-night no-recruit lapse (although, upon second thought, maybe that helped to keep it secret a little longer), could pull it off. But there was Taf. Excellently played.

That PBuG almost screwed me up the night before I came in! Glad I could deviate the attention away from me. Did that post help?

*laugh* I do have to say... I have enjoyed this endgame more than any other. So the cult was just a mason group? *shakes head* if I ever come up against a cultie in another game who says they're a mason, know what I'm going to do?

Hang 'em high.

I was rather proud of my solution in what seemed to be a no-win game, the things that threw me off were 1)Scarlett could NEVER be investigated 2)Cult were not killers. Leonidas, you reeked cult the last day, and Peacock HAD to be in the game. You investigated Taflinel night 9, which was the night I assumed all mafia to be dead save the GodMother.

I do want to say one thing, though. Leonidas? HH? Why didn't you say something? When I said that I was willing to side with the cult, I wasn't kidding. If you two had come out and said that you BOTH were cult, and were sure Taflinel was Scarlett... I would have voted Taflinel. I wasn't kidding. You two were the majority anyways, noone would have been lynched without one of your say-sos. I wish you'd let me know.

One last note, Taflinel... the bet started in "Star Wars II" mafia. I was Princess Leia. Two players claimed Leia before I posted that I was, and I offered an open bet of $100 that I was Leia to any player, and Leonidas took that bet, because he was ***POSITIVE*** that I wasn't. So far, every time I've offered the bet, it's been because I'm sure of what I bet on. I've gotten flack about "the bet", but there's always two factors that quiet my accusers - 1) If I lose, I will pay. I don't make that bet as a joke. 2) There's the possibility I'm lying with the bet. However, if someone takes me up on it, it would be one costly win. ROFL.

Courk? Excellent game. Remind me never to play baseball with you, your curveballs are deadly.

Yes, Werebear - I knew that if I told you, you would probably prefer the Town to get silver instead of bronze.

(But no self-respecting cultist would have done that... right... ).

Now that I think about it... I can't believe my discussion with Taf:
- You're responsible for two kills a night. Evil you.
- No, Leo. You've got some nerve - I only kill once. Keep the other murder, thank you.
- But I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING, AND MY RECRUITER WAS HANGED. Someone has to be responsible !
- I genuinely don't understand. Sell to Werebear. Good luck.

RAAAH, Courk. RAAAH.

Great game all. I figured the mafia would be hunting for a doc, hence I came out as a mason. Turns out I was both.
