I don't think it is, as the 'h' is pronounced in 'Aloha,' but not in 'Hola.' It sounds similar, though.

I listened to the pronounciation of Aloha on Mirriam-Webster and the H is clearly pronounced. It's not like I remember it from watching Hawaii Five-O on TV years ago.

No idea why I added the 'e'. Of course, it has been 20 years since I took French. _________________ And he lived happily ever after. Except for the dieing at the end and the heartbreak in between. |

There's a book illustrator named Kam Mak.
A former leader of Burma/Myanmar was named U Nu.
Speaking of palindromes with names in them, I recall once seeing a very long palindrome in which every word except two of the last three words was a name. It ended with "and [name I can't recall] sinned." |

I'm pretty sure this one's Russian; I've heard the source is Gagarin or a Russian cosmonaut in response ot the US landing on the moon:
A luna kanula
It means something to the effect: "The moon vanishes"
Maybe a Russian-speaker can say what it exactly means.

I've tried канула in a few online dictionaries, but the results weren't promising, mostly because the dictionaries suck. Луна does, however, mean moon. I wish I knew more russian. |
