Silence of the Lambs goes up against the 2nd of the star wars movies. Will they continue their perfect run?

Tough choice. I love both movies... Silence of the Lambs for me after much going back and forth between the two.

Both are really good movies, but come on you know which one I had to vote for.

Bah. Some of these round's lineups are of movies that I have both not seen, and here I have to choose between two all-time favourites. Silence gets the vote.

I couldn't understand how the title 'Silence of the Lambs', came in to play. I saw the movie twice and didn't see any sheep

On the other hand, I haven't seen this particular Star Wars movie, so I won't vote.

Why do the individual tournaments have numbers? Why not post on the board "Round 'whatever', Donnie Darko vs. Captain Neo Ubenleibenlubenlouden" (what was that movie?)
You look at the forum column and all of the tournament threads are numbered and numbered only, no reference to the vying movies until loading the thread. It's tough enough to compare these movies and attempt to judge them impartially when stacked against one another with no thought of which movies are even remotely similar. It's a joke, really.

Anyways, it's a little late for that suggestion I suppose.

I think we should have a 'favorite James bond movie' thread in this here forum. Anyone agree?

Vote one of the movies with a hot, naked girl Enthusiastic Grin

Silence of the Lambs came into play when Hannibal asked her, 'Are the lambs crying, Clarice?' I think the answer was no. Other than that, I don't remember anything.

Before that, Jody Foster told some story about when she was a kid living on a farm - something about the silence of the lambs as they went to be slaughtered. Anyway, I didn't think much of the movie.

Checked the script: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Set/2417/lambscript.html

... the lambs weren't silent. They were screaming. Whatever. So lambs scream. Mutton, however, is always silent.

When Clarice was little she lived on a farm with a bunch of noisy lambs. It was a very disturbing sound. (they were always scared, entirely helpless, and they were really being raised to be slaughtered anyway) When she grew up she couldn't get them out of her head. She was an FBI agent so that she could "save the lambs" in the form of saving people. Solving the Jame Gumb case with Hannibal Lecter's help made the "lambs" in her head silent for a while. At the end Lecter points out that eventually the lambs will get noisy again- and then she'll have to save someone else or something.

It's terribly annoying that the Star Wars movies keep going up against my top 8. Revenge most foul!

I would probably put Empire over Silence, but not New Hope. I'm not *that* surprised it's winning (I was more surprised about Return over Godfather), but anyway.

I'm not sure I understand Buzz's complaint about the movies being paired against different types of movie... that's kind of the whole point, isn't it? I mean, we could pair up like moves, but it'd make the first few rounds rather dull, IMO (at least, there'd be a lot more potential for blowouts).

Silence of the Lambs was one of the biggest anti-climax film watching events of my life. Since I don't read fiction, I took the film on the basis of the pre-hype and film critic acclaims........bad move.
What was the point to over half the movie? It was just a 'big up' for Jodie and Tony to have a jolly with a moody script, nothing spectacular at all.
I was expecting dynamic acting, a good storyline and gripping suspense. All I got was a numb arse and a ten quid loss.
Totally window Twanky.
Michael Myers could have done better in his pre-ice hockey days.

I agree with extro.
And I may add that "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" was the penultimate step to that peak.

Let's not forget that she did the voice of little boy Pugsley on the Adams Family cartoon series. A far cry better than that caricature of a Southern drawl affected in "Sommersby" - if that doesn't make you puke, nothing will.
