Well, what I meant to get across was that I like SW to begin with, but since it was a revolutionary movie, it's just that much better. Does that make sense?

Okay SW is a series Are you calling the series revolutionary or something in this movie in particular? It's the move thats against BR here not the series. Though I'll give you the critics (if you go by their opinion) consider this the best of the 3 orginal movies.

I'm kind of referring to both. SW the SERIES was revolutionary, but each part of it was as well. New stuff was added into each one, not to mention the fact that it was the first three-part movie play, IIRC. (That's what Lucas called it. Kind of like LotR. Three acts of one play.)

And I don't understand that either, Elayne. All of a sudden, the best SW movie can't beat BR? Something's amiss.

I guess my problem is (though not with this movie) is people will vote for a particular movie cause they like the SERIES as a whole. I personally am not sure that series like SW or LotR should really be broken up for voting as people have a hard time seperating their thoughts of the overall from those of the individual movie. Indiana Jones for example is one I do think should be seperated as the plot of each is pretty independent. Though in some cases like the Matrix, only the first is good and IMO, the other 2 probably shouldn't have been made so not sure what I'd want to see there.

I completely agree with you Elayne. That's why when this all started out, I put SW and LotR as a whole, but I was told to break it up.

I haven't voted in Princess Bride vs. Die Hard I because I've only seen about 80% of Die Hard.

I can't stand it when people vote for/against movies in a series just because they saw the first one, liked/hated it, and from that feel like they can judge the subsequent ones. Or worse, haven't seen either movie but decide that since the first was so good/horrible, that they have to vote for/against it, no matter what the competition is.
