Every time I saw the "What Made You Happy Today?" thread I wanted to start this. The problem was, I never had specific things to point to and say "This is what made me miserable"
Woke up at 5:45 this morning. Had a grand total of 5 hours of sleep. Then I had a lovely six and a half hour drive from New York to Maine, because the brilliant director of my school's winter player (in which i only have a bit part anyways) decided not to post TECH SUNDAY on the SCHEDULE, so I only learned about it after I'd already agreed to go to my Grandparent's 50th anniversery. I get a bagel with cream cheese and coffee at a rest stop at 8 AM. Four and a half hours later I'm at rehearsal and someone decides to give me flak for being late. All the food is of course, already gone, and I had no time to get lunch on my own. Let's see, I get a ridiculous amount of face makeup on, then have to sit there doing nothing because it's ages before my one seen. I'm not allowed to scratch my face. Great. Now I'm tired, hungry, uncomfortable, bored and just plain worn out. I come very close to physically attacking a classmate who decided this was the perfect time to start being a jackass and try to piss me off. I learn that someone just went out to get food for everyone who'd asked her for it. Around 3 someone finally took pity on me and gave me a granola bar.
Anyone else feel like ranting? |

Sorry, Vegt. Hopefully your week will get better.
Nothing like that for me, I just have to go to school tomorrow and I've been filling out so many ******* applications that it's not even funny any more. And if I don't fill them out within like two days of getting them, my mom chews my head off. That doesn't even include the nearly 12 hours of traveling I did this weekend visiting my dad in Dallas. I am so not ready for the coming week. |

I was searching the cupboards for chocomel, didn't find any but I found some hungry jack pannekoeken mix! I got out the mrs. buttersworths and got the griddle going. But something was wrong with the mix, it had dark specks of wheat in it. I wondered if it might be bran? But then a bran moved.
Looking closer I saw the bran specks were insects tunneling and eating my pannekoeken mix.
So I am having quaker oats cardboard porridge.
I let the grocery supples get low and now in a couple hours, a tow truck will be here to take my car to the repair shop which will then have it tied up for several days. I will be stranded in this cabin with no food. I'll be stuck here reading about Chuck's steaks and tv dinners. |

Not finding out until 4PM that my car STILL wasn't ready. They "forgot" to order my part.
And, of course, I was given a range of possible cost, and the actual cost is the maximum. No exact reason why the cost could range from x to 2X. |

| I sympathize, Bearty. Having one's car fixed can be a nightmare. After years of looking over my shoulder and oodles of bad luck, I have finally found a service place that seems honest. |

I bought a new software package to write sheet music, which I wanted anyway. The reason for purchasing it now is that I have a song I want to get ready for Valentine's day.
The software will NOT work properly WITH my computer., even though it is far beyond the minimum requirements. It freezes, locks up or generally runs slow suddenly. What's worse is that I know this is a known problem with my system when it comes to graphics and sound combinations, but I didn't think it would affect such a simple program.
I can always write the score, but that's painfully slow and I don't have a keyboard to peck out the notes... *sigh* |

I went upstairs to do my laundry, and all the machines were near full (of quarters.) In fact, four of the six machines were so full that they would not accept the full $1.25 to cover the cost of a load (and yet, would not return the money I had already deposited.) Among those four machines I lost $2.75. And ran out of quarters.
You'd think that would be the end of it, but nope. I went to the ATM to get some cash that I could use to get more quarters at the local market. I couldn't withdraw any money. My mom called shortly thereafter, and had an explanation... my new Bank of America card (because they gobbled up Fleet) had arrived in the mail. At my home address, in Maine. Which doesn't do me a hell of a lot of good here in Boston. And then my mom called to activate it, not realising that the instant she did it would void my Fleet card.
The new card will arrive tomorrow morning at 11:30, accompanied by The Doctor (that part doesn't make me miserable.) (Really, it doesn't.) |

IS, i m new to GL. should i not be posting until everyone knows who i am?:-p that seems to not make sense....
I am friends irl with the people mentioned in my original post here, as well as a few others on the GL. i don't expect every one to know who i am. Hence, i corrected mathgrant concerning my gender. because he didnt know. _________________ 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

One time when working as a landscaper (erecting a fence) at a school for mentally challenged kids, I was warned "if the kids come over to talk, be polite but don't let them know what your name is. You'll be sorry if you do."
When a couple of kids came over to say hello, one kid asked me what my name was. I quickly told him "Frank" which also happened to be the name of my co-worker.
It didn't take long and while we were trying to work, there were kids all over the playground shouting, "Frank!" "Hey Frank!" "Frank, Hi!" "Frank!" "Hi Frank!"
As that group of kids went in from recess, another group immediately followed and inevitably got word of Frank's name.
This went on all day. |
