The new SAT.
I took the old SATs in December: 800V, 720M

Went college visiting... learned that so far 2/3 colleges I'm looking at won't accept my old scores at all.

The new test is 45 minutes longer. I've got a decent case of ADD. I was able to force myself to focus just eneough to take the old test.

Woke up this morning, took a practice test. I simply cannot stay focused for it.

After 3 and a half hours of taking a practice test, I now have a SAT lesson for an hour and a half this afternoon, followed by term paper work.

Someone please murder the college board?

No heat. No water. All I want to do is to take a bath after a long day at work. But nooooo. My stupid house has to leak. After running out of tags at work, finding out that our supplier is out of stock, and having to call everywhere and drive around in search of more, we finally found some. Ten million boxes of Alex Panline (kid's craft kits, crayons, etc.) clogging up the front of the store until we get it all unpacked. Headache, dizzy, sore throat, and cramps. And just generally feeling crappy.

No joke. That sucks zK. *wookie hugs* Go grab some of that Polar Soda and a package of those thing-a-ma-bobs and fall asleep watching a comedy. Hopefully that could cheer you up.

I finished all my work at 2:30, even though I was woozy-sick most of the day and asked if I could leave. it was very obvious that I was not well. "No", I was told by my department head. I said "I'm going home because I'm sick, my work is done, and I'm on call if you need me anyway. I'm going home to sleep. End of discussion" and walked away.

Found an old suicide note addressed to me. Bad memories.

At least it only turned out to be an attempt, and was 4 years ago.

Oh my.

Well, when I was supposed to wake up at 6:45, my body was actually telling me to roll over and start a new dream, unfortunately my mom walked in and made sure that I got up. Melancholy Then, my shower was freezing cold because, apparently, my mother had shaved her legs this morning, thereby taking all of the hot water.

I go to school dressed in clothes other than the ones I wanted to because they weren't dry. In theater we, don't get to do what we were supposed to do, and two periods later, we do boring Spanish review. In history, I forgot we had a quiz and consequently made a 44 on it.

The rest of the day was okay, but all of this pretty much blotted out the good parts. I can only imagine what will happen this evening when I'm working on a paper for English and US History. Melancholy *sigh*

Last night it was 42 degrees (107ish Fahrenheit) and there was a blackout, probably because everyone had their air conditioners going full blast. So there was no light and it was stinking hot, and I got home from work (they sent me home early because I sucked) to find out I couldn't cook something, after not eating all day. Okay, I can handle that.

Spend all night trying to sleep. Am too hot. Decide to come into town in the morning to get internet access. As I'm leaving the house, my little sister (who left for uni a week or so ago, and who I miss desperately) calls to talk for a while. She's homesick and wants to come home. I get sad, but assure her that things will get better quickly. Hang up phone, prepare to leave again. Phone rings again. It's my sister again. Sobbing and obviously incredibly distressed. She's had a car accident. Thank God, nobody was hurt, but she's done a lot of damage to her car, and someone else's brand new car. It was just upsetting because my little sister is in the big city all on her own, and she's lonely and upset, and I'm here, unable to do a thing. Nothing like hearing your baby sister cry for making you feel completely and utterly terrified and helpless.

That was the worst thing. Another slightly sad thing is that a guy I've taken quite a liking to is leaving town in a week, just as we were starting to get to know each other. Kinda pales into insignificance though.

WOW. *GIANT HUGS* for you and your sister. Thankfully, my little sister has not been in any car accidents.

This morning on my way to work, there was a freight train crossing a major street. Okay, so the arms come down to block traffic and you wait a couple of minutes and you're on your way. It only happens about every other month. Well, I noticed the train getting slower and slower. I can see the last car - it's going to make it through the crossing. But no, it comes to a complete stop with the last car just barely having cleared the roadway - not enough for the crossing arms to raise.

I was stuck there for about 20 minutes until I could get to a small alleyway along the track that all the traffic was diverting to. Then, right after I turned and couldn't get back, some samaritan pedestrian raised one side so cars could get by. With all the traffic that had been diverting to the small side streets, it was another ten minutes before I could get back on my way. Bah!

My mom keeps breathing down my neck about getting a job. I don't know what else to do. I have put in at least 15 applications in various places of business, I have called them back numerous times, and still nothing. Yet, despite all of this, she still blames me for not having a job. Obviously, it's their problem, not mine. I'm doing everything that my mom is telling me to do!

If anybody has any tips on how to deal with this, or how I can get a job fast, please, help me. I'm about to blow up at my mother and that could cause me to not come around here for a while. That would make me even more miserable. Melancholy

I have a mild sore throat but it has a very strange symptom.
I can't swallow. I try and the bits at the back of my throat just don't move. It takes about 6 or 7 attempts while pressing my fingers into my neck to swallow successfully and even then I end up swallowing a load of air and need to belch to get rid of it.
If I have a mouthful of water then everything works fine, but I have to make sure not to leave any behind or I will feel the need to swallow again but can't.
It started about 4 hours ago and is really disconcerting. I expect there is some swelling pressing against a nerve and it's interfering with muscle control.
Anyway, it's really pissing me off.

On the plus side I learned a new word. Dysphagia - inability to swallow.
If you can't wait and want to see what I might die of, google for "Painless Dysphagia".
It doesn't make very good reading if you are suffering from it.

IS - I guess there's always a silver lining. Enjoy it while it lasts. I expect I'll post tomorow and it will be gone. If I manage to get any sleep, that is.

Growl.

Authority unit prevented me from going to my Dungeons and Dragons game. Again. Blamed it on it being a school night. Again. Said it would be fine if it were not a school night. (The last excuse was that I couldn't go if it were at anyone's house who she didn't know. The excuse before that was that I'd have to wait for summer, because of school nights.) However, I get all my crap taken care of (homework, chores, etc). I get enough sleep. And yet, I am prevented from doing this one thing, twice a month. Oh, do I want to go to the movies with an overage painkiller addict and a reforming pothead? Sure, no problem! But no, I can't go to my best freind's house, twice a month, supervised even, because I "get home too late." Tell me, when did ten pm become unGODly hours of the night?

Growl.
