| My AIM Away message for tonight and probably tomorrow wrote: |
So, where do I begin...
I have Physics homework, a calc test, a calc gateway, and an AutoCAD project all in the near future. When I go home for Spiring "break", my family will hassle me about getting my driver's license and a job. Of all my acquaintances, only two of them contact me without wanting something. One of my acquaintances hates everything about me and ridicules me daily, and I hesitate to tell him my true self, in fear of more ridicule. I'm sick of being lovesick, and I don't know how to get over it. The girl that I was about to ask on a date apparantly already has a boyfriend. I get horribly deperessed every night and, almost every night, end up crying myself to sleep. |
Now off to "sleep" I go... _________________ Space for sale. PM i_h8_evil_stuff for details. |

I hate to complain, but I feel like it. I just want to type it. I don't really care if anyone reads this or not.
Our school's girls' basketball team is going to the state tournament in Madison, WI tomorrow. School is canceled for that day because they play in the middle of the day.
Now to be completely frank, I don't care much about whether they win or lose or whatever. What the plan was was for me and two friends to tell each parent that we were going and then go on a day-long road trip to Chicago to experience such fun things. I told my parents we were going to Madison early already and coming home late tomorrow night.
I come to school today and hear: "We're not going."
I was so excited. Now I may be forced to go to the game. Good thing I didn't scalp my ticket. |

I fell off the wagon yesterday. I bought 3 six packs and holed up here at home, drank all of them, 18 coronas.
Now at 7am, it is minus 6.7F and I have to be at the trail in one hour to x-country ski eleven k. |

Nothing has made me miserable yet today, but yesterday is a different story. Our school is putting on Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute," in english, and the school/community Orchestra gets the wonderful job of playing for all eight shows. The string section consists of half students and half community members. To make it easier on everyone, they've divided us in half, so that we have an "orchestra A" and an "orchestra B." The strings, brass, and most of the winds had enough people so that everyone didn't have to play in every show. Anyway, there aren't enough double reed players for either the oboists or the bassoonists to be split, so we're all playing every show.
Last night and Wednesday night were the dress rehersals for the two orchestras. Last night was supposed to be a night off for the singers, but we got snowed out on Tuesday. Since we were rescheduled for last night, many of the college kids couldn't make rehersal, leaving the orchestra short a bassoonist, 3 violists, and with substitute players in the clarinet and oboe sections. With a small group of people, that made a huge difference (not to mention that orchestra B isn't quite as skilled as orchestra A). We were all miscounting, missing cues, and generally sucking. And Its not just the subs. EVERYONE was playing poorly (myself included).
Most of the leads had their understudies sing the part. Nobody wants to sing a full show five nights in a row as it would kill their vocal chords. So the understudies didn't really know the parts well, and would miss cues. The orchestra director was trying to follow them, but the orchestra was having trouble keeping up with him. So he gets mad. We get frustrated. We play worse. He gets more upset. Endless cycle of evil. By the end of the 4 hour rehersal, we're all feeling really bad about ourselves.
As if we didn't know we sucked, the director yells at us in front of the chorus, just to rub it in. And some people in the CREW told us we sucked. I know we're bad, but its director's job to yell at us. Three people left crying, and I was about ready to smash my face through a window.
On top of that, there was a parking ban in the lot where my car was, a 10 minute walk across campus in the bitter cold. I almost got stuck trying to get out of the surrounding snow, and my doors wouldn't shut or lock. Time to go get some WD40.
I'm done complaining now. |

Somebody just stole my laundry. I'm absolutely mind-boggled.
After loading the washers in the apartment laundry room, I returned a bit later, heard both dryers going, and assuming someone else was drying their clothes, went back to my apartment to wait for them to finish.
When I went back a little later the clothes were...just...gone. I can only assume someone transferred them to the dryers, dried them, and packed them off. The best I can hope is that someone mistakenly dried my washerload along with their own, and will return them when they discover the mistake. But how the hell do you mistake someone else's laundry for you own??
The whole thing would be almost funny except that this represents practically all my wearable clothing, including all my work-shirts. This isn't funny, it sucks. _________________ Hard work may pay off in the long run, but laziness pays off right now. |

Yesterday my wife and I were on our way home a little before 2 PM when we approached a major cross street where the intersection was blocked off. When we saw all the people along the street we realized it must be the St. Patrick's Day parade, so we parked in a strip center and my wife went into a store to shop until the street was opened. Meanwhile I noticed that the parade hadn't started yet, so I asked the cop at the corner what time we could get through. He said "around 4". Looking down the street, I could see nearly a mile and no sign of a parade.
I got my wife and took off, looking for a route around the parade route. We didn't know all the side streets, and we came to a subdivision that was gated, but the gate was open. Well, knowing that all subdivisions must have at least two ways in and out, we went in. Sure enough, we found the exit, but after that gate closed behind us, we found ourselves on a street whose only way out was back to the main parade route, and that was blocked off! Now we were trapped for two hours.
We found a place selling expensive beers and sat to watch the stupid parade and guess what. It sucked. A few fire trucks and some pickup trucks pulling flatbed trailers with kids throwing Mardi Gras beads. Bah. |

| Feel sorry for the people who had to be in it. When I was in gradeschool I was in a few parades with the band (I was a flag girl - I have no musical talent). I remember having to get there super early, and then waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Forever. Then, finally, you get to march. One time I remember we had to wait next to some people dressed as Klingons... odd. |

Horribly frustrating weekend.
dont feel like typing it out, but last night ended with no heat or hot water in my apartment. My roommate showered at Groza's and I went to bed a dirty girl. Also, I think my acappella group bombed an opportunity to sing at a benefit celebration. rar. _________________ 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Okay, so, Sunday I bruised my tail-bone. New boss, you know the position I went for, is making all sorts of new and mundane rules at work. For example we can't turn off our computers until exactly the time we are suppsoed to leave, not one second earlier or else we could get written up, yet she wants us to turn on our computers at least 5-10 minutes before we are supposed to start work. very frustrating. _________________ Duct tape is like the force they both have a light side and a dark side and they bind the universe together. |

That and the fact that you would have to put up with all the snide remarks about not putting in the extra 10 minutes "turn on time" before the main job really started, not to mention finishing too soon.
Shame you don't have a Mac. The can be scheduled to turn on and off based on day and time.

Leave your computer on after you're supposed to leave. Add this time to the early "turn on time." Demand OT pay. _________________

I slept through my alarm this morning and woke up five minutes after I was supposed to be at work. It was ok, I called and let them know, and managed to get there only half an hour late, but I still felt crappy about it. Especially 'cause my supervisors were so nice about it. I wouldn't have felt half as guilty if they'd yelled at me.
Unfortunately my (relative) promptness meant that I had foregone my usual caffeine. With the aid of coffee, I can be fully alert within two hours of waking up, without it takes at least three (I am SO not a morning person... very slow starter).
So I did a reeeeeeally shitty job at work today. Which made me feel even worse.
They sent me home after a 4-hour shift, either to be nice, or because I was more of a liability than a help. Either way I feel crappy. |

The bus was 30 minutes late.
My work took an hour and a half to print, mostly because the printer lies and refused to process my imagery SIX times.
A different program ate my different work, and all the images I collected for it are too fuzzy and therefore I can't use them. Every project has to be done by tomorrow.
