I agree with the concept of burning books. _________________ Monkeys are better dead. |

Here we are again, with GEB going up against a perfectly fine book.
I think Fahrenheit 451 is one of the better remaining books, one I'd easily back over 1984, for instance. However, Godel, Escher, Bach had this pseudo-sequel known as The Grey Labyrinth. While the writing style of The Grey Labyrinth is often shakey, and there is a lot of useless noise in there, it's still something I get a lot of enjoyment from, especially when running things like wipeouts and mafia games. I'd recommend it to others.
Vote: GEB

Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid
by Douglas R. Hofstadter
This Pulitzer Prize winning work was in many ways inspirational for the Grey Labyrinth. For anyone who is fascinated with mathematics, music, art, philosophy, the mind, life and paradox, and would like to see them all woven together into an exhilerating literary tapestry, this book is a must read. This is the creator of the Grey Labyrinth's all-time favorite non-fiction book.
