Ijolé!
Why is Grim Fandango struggling to survive? I can understand why people wouldn't like some of the other games I like, but I am surprised at this. I'd have thought anybody who liked the Monkey Island games would have given this one a try; and as good as Monkey Island games are this is funnier, cleverer, longer and with a better plot then any of them. |

~blinks~
Grim Fandango has nothing to do with Monkey Island. They are both adventure games, and were both made by Lucasarts. The similarity ends there, IMO.
That being said, I still voted for it. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |

'~blinks~', Antrax? I don't think my post was that ludicrous.
Except for the main setting and the control method, I think that the meat of it, (the style of puzzles and the humour displayed) are much closer to Monkey Island than any other Adventure game I've played, (and I've played through most of the main commercial ones). I'm not interested in debating you on the point, though. |

That's a shame, because I pretty much disagree with everything. Different atmosphere, different sort of puzzles, different style of graphics... Grim Fandango isn't even cartoonish, style-wise. I really don't see how you think it's comparable to Monkey Island. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. | From the Demo I played, I agree with Antrax. It felt very different from any of the MI's. |
