As Minotaur I should have realized that I am supposed to be posting news updates here. But it never really seemed like many people read them. So instead of making a bunch of little threads, I will post news by the season.

I am away right now and am posting from the Haines Public Library. Charming place with seven computers with internet access. I have had a few days of waiting for my ferry which leaves tomorrow morning. I spent the better parts of these waiting days here reading A Brief History of Time. I am on my long voyage to jeepfest (more information in Off Topic).

There actually is really no news to report. I haven't updated the main page for a few weeks even though there are solved puzzles. Oh well. The real purpose of this little snippet of random news was to mention jeepfest, the highligh of any GLer's summer. Even the baked Alaskan will be there!

Have fun and enjoy the lazy days.

I would like to thank the four people who took time to submit puzzles for the contest. Unfortunately, I only know the names of the winners. Their puzzles can now be found on the main page.

A new puzzle contest has started. Click here for more information.

This month's field is logic puzzles.

This month the Minotaur is threatening to throw people who don't submit into a pit of lava!! Obviously it would be very bad for your health not to submit a puzzle.

Dire threats don't seem to be working. I think we will cancel the show.

A new puzzle (The Sign of Four) has been posted. And so was the solution to the last one (The King's Jewels).

Everything on the Labyrinth seems to be running smoothly.

The little jumping "popular" icons have been killed. You will now have to manually tell how "popular" a thread is by looking at the number of posts it contains.

I forgot to mention that all but three four five members of the GL were thrown into a pit of lava today. If you would like to remove yourself from this pit of lava, you must submit a good puzzle to me Felicitous

I like lava! By the way, I never did submit my puzzle that I worked so hard and long on only to forget about it! I will look for it (hopefully I haven't lost it) and submit as soon as I find it.

Maybe MattV can keep sending me lava images thorugh pm as friendly reminders? Enthusiastic Grin

I tried one reminder. But I guess it must have come too early.

The main page was updated recently. But the new puzzle has already been solved. I think I should make updates on Monday when people don't have time to solve the puzzles.

Spambots have been annoying the GL recently but there isn't too much to do about them. Just take these lemons to complete your collection of online casinos and pr0n sites. I must admit that our moderators and admins have been doing a good job for quickly removing these blemishes- I thank you.This post was created partly to remove a spam post from the "most recent post"

The solutions for the last tow mazes are slowly being put together. The current puzzle remains mostly solved. Despite some creative attempts that are much harder than what I had in mind, I may have to clue people in to trying something a little easier. It is hard to guess what people will do sometimes...

I hope everyone is having a joyful and warm holiday season. It is never too late to eat chocolate!
