I've spent a few nights recently at my school's observatory. I took an entire roll of galaxies, globular clusters, etc. On thursday evening, I took the film to Walmart to get it developped. When I dropped it off, I told the lady there that these would be dark, since they are pictures of stars and stuff, and that I wanted them all processed anyway.

40 minutes later, they call me on the PA. When I go and talk to them, the lady tells me that my film was unexposed. She asked me if I had loaded the film correctly. I told her that I had. She then cumpled up my negatives and tossed them in the garbage. I told her that the film would appear dark, since I had taken pictures of stars though a telescope. She asked me what aperture I had used. I told her that I used the 16" aperture of a telescope. She scratched her head and then pulled the negatives out of the garbage. She held them up to the light, and lo and behold, my pictures of stars! She reccomended that I adjust my f-stop (wtf?). I blinked once, and then left the store, never to return.

Update: I have taken to using a CCD chip on the telescope. Taking pictures with it is tough, but a good challenge. Nothing worthwhile posting yet.

BTW, I take it those were taken with a film camera and scanned, because I can definitely see some color in them (a bit of red on the table cover - the one with the flowers in the miracle whip jar). I don't think a digital camera in BW mode woul do that.
