Guest posting is now allowed only for guest usernames that end in an asterisk ("*"). This is to stop scripts from advertising online casinos and the such in forums where guest posting is allowed.
Also, I've upgraded us to 2.0.19.
Please report any problems you encounter (here or by email), and I apologise for the inconvenience.

Hmm. Problem #1: global announcements don't seem to be working.

Probably occured after we upgraded to 2.0.18 and wasn't noticed until now.

| Is the correct spelling "asterix" or "asterisk"? The former is being used in the error messages, I believe the latter is correct. |

New users are being required to end their names with an asterisk also...
I don't think you want that.
In the "last post by" place, all guests just show up as "Guest". I believe it would be more helpful to show the guest's name. |

| There might be a problem with PMs. I sent Ctorj a PM at noon EST today, and despite him checking his inbox since then, he didn't receive it until 4pm EST. Would that be a PM problem, or some sort of issue with his computer or something? |

It's theoretically impossible - PMs are not emails, they are not "sent". They're just created on the server, and thus are immediately accesible once posted. So, it's probably some sort of cache issue, or he's lying through his teeth
