Now I read the answer to the puzzle, and the way in which it was done does show that the German owns fish. But, I got my own answer without ever even attempting to do the puzzle in that manner. In fact, the question had absolutely nothing to do with the given information unless you did it the suggested way on this site. The question was, "Who owns fish?" Well, whether you think it's stupid or not, an answer is "My sister owns fish." Another answer is, "My friend owns fish." It might be a play on words, but that was the question, and this is my answer.
And one more thing, about the bonus. I didnt know about the smoke brands, but is it possible that in the 19th century one of the countries listed didnt exist because it had not yet gained independence from the German empire? Just a thought.
