DropOfaHat - actually, I was not completely serious when I wrote that. While I suppose that it might be the answer, I too will be a little disappointed if it is.

Happyfunball - This site publishes puzzles created by members if they are deemed good enough. If you have a problem with the content (which, to my mind, has gone up considerably these last couple of months) then why not make up your own puzzle and send it in?

Any chance the serenity prayer is the basis of the pun?

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference... etc.

Not explicitly Buddhist but in keeping with the ideas, and of course, the puzzle title.

Frank took a deep breath and said...

"SALE! SALE! BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!"

Frank was a little crazy at the end

But in all seriousness, I have a question: Do we need any special knowledge (about buddhism for example) to be able to work this puzzle out?

I had decided that confirming the correct solution when it is posted in the forum is a bad habit I should break. But since this puzzle seems to have sparked a fair amount of controversy...

Yes, the solution posted by cha in reply 18 is correct. The puzzle was inspired by a kind of puzzle that, a few years ago, was popular in VSP for a while.

Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with basing a puzzle on a pun - clearly, not everyone agrees.

Unless someone submits a puzzle I can use (and it is seldom that anyone submits a puzzle), I have to create or find a good puzzle we haven't already used on my own. So, as Gomez says, if you have a good puzzle, do send it in. I'd be very grateful .

To paraphrase Daryll Royal, getting this one right is like kissing your sister.

Use one of my Easy Number Fill-Ins in VSP

Or if you have it backed up, my old "Weakest Link" word puzzle

But, I don't get it. "If you meet Bubba on the road, kill him."?

He said "Got any words of wisdom before I leave?".
The pronoun "he" could refer to any of the two guys

The only way to get to Bubba is to make him powerless and worse... indebted.

He said "I forgive him."

Can anyone explain how 'If you see Bubba on the road, Kill him' works as the answer? I don't get it.
