I originally posted a very angry message. Then I decided to just post the useful content out of it.
Whenever you do anything non-standard with the board, you are risking stumbling on a bug the phpBB team missed, and risking causing a side-effect you didn't foresee because of your lack of a technical background.
So, it would seem the rational user would never, ever do anything haphazard unless it was to fix an already existing problem.
A stupid game started in VG without any thought to anything is not "an already existing problem".
So, messing with the board in order to "win" that thing was irrational. And in the Antraxtionary, irrational is synonym to "wrong", as well as a couple other adjectives.
So FFS, the next time you consider doing something like that, don't.

If it's possible for someone unfamiliar with the board to have that level of control, shouldn't something be done about it? What is that level of control needed for? I haven't a clue how much others know about phpBB, but if you're right and it is an inadequate amount for what they are able to do, then they shouldn't have that kind of access, unless they need it for some other reason.

Also, can that new forum be deleted? It's irritating.

I'm always striving to keep the number of people with access to the administration panel to a minimum, mostly for security reasons (less passwords means less chance of one being stolen). Currently we have jeep, Hy, Samadhi and myself on the technical front, and MatthewV, Neo, Lepton and mith (I think) on the content front.

Yes. But I'm just going to remove it from view from everyone but admins.

FFS?

Otherwise, thank you. Although I know it was not malicious in hindsight, I was annoyed briefly not seeing the topics in any forums. Finding that one of my post's content had appended lines from a mod, not an edit, but a content addition for this stupid game really made me twitch. It was removed from my post later but my mood had darkened considerably. I don't like mods touching my posts for a reason that has nothing to do with me.

All I could find for FFS was that the polite form means "for freak's sake".
