Its a big surprise that TopHat was NK'd due to his claim yesterday.

Ive done a reread over the past few days, and I just dont like one person.

I investigated Tophat, and weirdly enough, i got sefer as being scum. I don't know exactly what is going on here. don't even know why my investigations are coming up so weirdly..

So you investigated me and got town once, and then scum this time? I think we can be certain that you're not a sane cop; the only way to investigate someone twice and get two different results is a random cop, right? So you're either random or scum.

Tseirp, Primo is someone I've been looking at too (both due to behavior and me thinking that NK immunity would be something scum would want to claim to avoid being targeted by the SK), but superstring has an innocent on him and MNOWAX can't be a sane cop. It'd probably be best to wait til we get a result from superstring before we vote someone.

That's true; I hadn't really thought about GF investigation immunity. I just think we should be cautious in a situation where two scum votes (on top of your current vote) could lose us the game if we're wrong. The fact that we haven't had anyone swoop in to add those votes in doesn't help Primo look good at the moment. Of course, it hasn't been very long since that vote was cast.

Yes, and that's weird- particularly since wizard was a mafia ability manipulator, and you getting a result on someone you didn't target sounds like ability manipulation, so scum would have to have more than one person that can affect other's abilities for that to be true. Regardless, the only possibilities for you getting an innocent result on me once and a guilty another time are that 1) you are random or 2) whatever retargeted you also screwed with your result. It does seem odd that scum would have an "ability manipulator" AND someone that could retarget/possibly mess with results of someone.

That means everyone but Primo has checked in since Tseirp voted. In that we know Tseirp can't be scum (since he's a mason), the only way we wouldn't have had the assumed two scum putting their votes down by now is that Tseirp is right about Primo. I'm inclined to think that superstring is sane and Primo is a godfather, and that we should lynch MNOWAX tomorrow. MNOWAX has a lot of holes in his story.

The town gathers around Primo. He doesn't look nervous though... he knows he has a trick left up his sleeve... He even laughs in the face of lynch! But it's too late for the town to stop now...

Primo, Mr Thompson, jester, lynched Day 3!

The remaining town glances nervously at each other. Any one of them could be mafia... MNOWAX and superstring take bitter stares at each other, one of them a cop, one of them lying. Sefer and Tseirp lurk on the fringes of the town square, perhaps trying to escape scrutiny. But not for much longer...

Suddenly, superstring strides onto the platform in the centre of the town square. "Hear Ye!" he shouts, "Sefer and I own this town now! You got Engamed!"

"Not so fast," Sefer says.

"Whaaa???" says superstring.

Sefer continues, "I'm not in the mafia at all. I'm a traitor, an agent for the town. And since you never picked up on it, you're gone! You're outnumbered 3 to 1. And I use my kill to wipe you out... now!"

But just as Sefer was pointing his gun, Tseirp suddenly calls out, "I wouldn't do that... not if you value your life..."

Tseirp strolls over and joins superstring at the centre of the square. "Too bad I decided to join the mafia, isn't it?"

The town gathered around Primo. "Why so quiet, scum?" they said. But he remained silent. Silent as the fish...

But, the question is, who is the scum, eh? MNOWAX and superstring91 eye each other off suspiciously, each unbelieving of the others claim. Sefer and Tseirp loiter on the fringes of the town square, perhaps hoping to avoid scrutiny. But no longer.

Sefer strode towards the centre of the town square. "The game's up!" he called out, "Me and superstring own this town! You'd best be leaving... now!"

Tseirp looks over to the fallen figure of Primo. "What have I done?" he wonders... but it's too late...

overall, it was an interesting game.
with that early D1 kill, it was a bit easier.
we would have won much sooner had wizard not been an idiot..

Re MNOWAX's cop adventures: There was no Night 0. the rules stated that game started with day 1. It was a coincidence that Sniklac chose to gossip about Amb, whom MNOWAX targetted. On Night 1, your choice went through normally, Sefer was the GF investigation immune. On Night 2, I gave the mafia a 1 shot use of wizard's ability as compensation for his modkilling. They chose to use it on you; as a result you randomly targetted Sefer. However, Sefer chose to carry out the kill that night so superstring could use his ability day 3, and so turned up guilty.

raekuul should have claimed gossip / paranoid cop. His post restriction would have been a bit severe if he chose to commute; oh well.

Re the choice of role names: I chose the names partly to prevent mass claiming (eg Guy N Cognito and Mr Sparkle not actually being Homers could be suspicious, as could the relatively esoteric Potato Man and perhaps Vigilante Homer). Each came from a specific episode and was a main part of that episode, except for the Potato Man, as well as Vigilante Homer which could have been from multiple episodes (I was thinking of the Cat Burglar one).
