I have been given a puzzle that I do not have the answer to.. I was wondering if u guys could help me..

Take a square, draw a line down the middle dividing it in half, now take the rectangle remaining on the left and divide it in half with a line, now take the rectangle on the right and divide it into thirds, now without lifting your pencil, crossing the same segment twice, or crossing your own line, you must cross every segment on the square..

im not sure what the rules are. Ive two squares drawn out on paper, and cant even know where to start, do we have to go accross all of the lines in the square, wihtout crossing it, or do we have to go into the segments wthout crossing lines(which seems far to easy)
Im not on the computer, im on webtv, so i cant draw what i mean, but if i get a chance on tuesday in IT, ill try and draw it in wrd, or drawing!!!

I think Jen got this one right, as stated in the puzzle. This is not quite the same thing as puzzle049.

No, Jen's diagram isn't right--notice that (a) hers is trivially easy to solve with a zig-zag diagonal path, and (b) the description in the problem matches the diagram in the GL Puzzle more or less exactly (though the overall shape there is a rectangle, not a square).

Moving on.

(a) Trivially easy to solve - isn't that the point with puzzles sometimes - the tricky bit is to change the way you automatically go to divide to the left hand side in half and the right hand side in thirds.
(b) Matches the GL puzzle - only if you divide your sides up the other way, similar wording doesn't mean its the same problem. The GL puzzle had a diagram to go with it, this doesn't.
