All 16 have one thing in common, apart form the fact that they are or were regulars here. However, within that common theme, one is unique. Who and why?

AGAMEMNON
AMB
COYOTE
FERRIS
GOMEZ
HYTOFRY
LEPTON
MACROS
MERCURIA
MIKKO
MITH
MITHRANDIR
MOLE
PALADIN
PORRO
RYOUSHI

Mercuria is the only female Daedalian there, I think... But I guess that's not the answer - it'd be something to do with the names only.

Guess:

Mikko: only one who doesn't have any alternate identity?

Weak, I know, but - hey...

All wrong

And please look at my exact phrasing - it is not a simple odd-one-out, they all have something in common, but for one of them that is different than the rest.

I will start adding some more clues.

PABLO could have been included in the list as well, but as usual, MIKE did not make the list at all.

Well, I just noticed that most of them seem to contain other words

AGAMEMNON-game
AMB-am
COYOTE-coy
FERRIS-err
GOMEZ-go,me
HYTOFRY-to,fry
LEPTON-to
MACROS-ma,macros
MERCURIA-?
MIKKO-?
MITH-it
MITHRANDIR-it,ran
MOLE-mole
PALADIN-pal,lad,din
PORRO-or
RYOUSHI-you

Is this connected to the answer, or is it complete coincidence?

And I could have added one of my alter egos Fire Rooster to the list (much to my surprise actually), but not Dragon.

Anything to do with vowel count?
(Ryoushi being the only one with more than 1/2 vowels)

Nope - and the fact that Fire Rooster qualifying for the list surprises me is a clear clue that it is not something straightforward like vowel counts etc.

Mmmmff... well, my theory has been shot down it seems, before I even got a chance to post it! Still, I think I'll post it anyway, based on the twin concepts of (a) All "Find the odd one out" puzzles like this have alternate solutions, and (b) My proposed solution will either eliminate a set of false trails or provide a catalyst for finding the 'right' answer.

So. My thought was that all the names posted had at least one letter that exhibited symmetry along the vertical axis. MITH was the only one where all letters exhibited that symmetry.

Actually, having re-read the posts, I'm not all that sure I'm wrong anyway...Counter-examples DP gave were MIKE, (written in italics to destroy the symmetry...and besides, as was pointed out, MIKE is always left off all the lists anyway, so how convincing could he be as a counter-example??), and Dragon, given in lower case and italics!

On the other hand, Fire Rooster was suggested as a candidate for the list, and although it's not written in ALL CAPS, there are letters in it that have vertical symmetry.

So how 'bout it, DP?? Even if my guess is wrong, can I at least get points for a guess that has remained logically consistent, even after the addition of a few hints?

* gives Coyote some points, just to keep him happy *

Whilst I agree that there may me multiple solutions, the one I am looking for has nothing to do with bold, capitals, italics, shapes of letters or the like.

And by the way, whilst PURGATION would be appropriate in the list, his brother MUDSTER would not.

Is the addition of FIRE ROOSTER surprising because it is a (and the only, so far) two-word alias?

No. I had expected that Dragon Phoenix would be in the list, but I found out that my name is a borderline case whether or not it can be included.

I find it interesting that http://www.mithrandir.com makes a reference to the wedding of someone named Kate. Also, there's a copyright notice in Swedish on the site.

www.agamemnon.com
www.amb.com
etc.
...
www.firerooster.com
and most notably:
www.dragonphoenix.com redirects one to the.dragonphoenix.com

I'd say that www.hytofry.com is the different one, since it's the only site owned by the GLer sharing the name.

Just a guess, though....(thanks Sofis)
