We are now again running the most current version of phpBB 2. Please report any problems you may notice.
This version has some new anti-flood measures. If you find them annoying, tell me and I'll change their settings. Currently you can only run a search every 5 seconds, and if you try to login and get it wrong 5 times, you cannot attempt to login for 30 minutes.

Can this feature be disabled on a per user basis?
I'm thinking of Usernames, such as "get a clue", where this migh cause some problems.

Good point, but it should be okay. Anyone with a legitimate solution would only try one or two permutations at worst before giving up. Most puzzles last for several hours if not days. A 30 minute hiatus wouldn't even be noticed by most everyone.

If it does seem that the new features are a problem, tell us.

The overall idea is problematic though. Allowing users to control security features is a minefield. Every feature you give the user is a potential exploit for the l33t.

Was the white line between posts always there? (I'm asking only because I never noticed it before)

One or two at most? What if it's a two-word answer? Is it "twowords" "TwoWords" or "Twowords"? There's three attempts there, and that's if you're sure you didn't typo any atttempt. If the answer is wrong, and someone else comes along a few minutes later to try "correctanswer" "CorrectAnswer" or "Correctanswer" the five attempts could be used up before "Correctanswer" is tried.

What's gained by preventing logins for 30 minutes after five attempts?

Also, while I realize five seconds isn't a long time, I often search for one thing then realize I forgot to check one box instead of the other and go back to quickly do that. Getting an error message would make that annoying. Again, what's gained by the five second wait?

The white line is new.

Courk: Look at "get a clue"'s profile.

I don't think it was - it may have been a style issue that jadesmar changed on purpose. I just noticed that our templates had no image called spacer.gif between the posts, and the phpBB release did, so I merged it.

That's a fine algorithm.

I know what the sig says, but that doesn't mean that's the way it is.

Affirming that the white line is new.

Also, the GL pages are loading exceptionally slow for me. Other things load fine. I'm not yet ruling out that it's just my end, but I'm throwing it out there.
