Now Aga, you shouldn't kick us while we're down. More than 4 out of every 5 NZers will need therapy over this, you know, and your attitude is Not Helpful! Look, look:

I completely admit that the Southern Hemmies are far superior to us Northerners in Rugger, thats why it's really good to shout our heads off when two of the top three favourites get beat. It don't happen that much, but when it does, it's fecking fantastic Revenge most foul!

Watch them Argies though.......could be a very very dark horse!

Argentina? You reckon?! Well, I guess it's been shown that anyone can win on the day. Revenge most foul!

I have to admit, I did crack a smile when the Aussies lost. That is my one consolation in this whole tragic affair.

Not at all on topic, but i thought i'd point out that this is the first time i have consciously noticed the difference between British and American group noun plurality classification. e.g. the difference between "The Irish team were" vs. "The Irish team was." (respectively)

carry on Revenge most foul!

this really depends on your background/ethnic heritage. mine being irish, i'd never call an irishman "british".

it's like telling a marine he's part of the navy. even though there may be truth to it, them's still fightin' words.

ROFL. We threw the game deliberately. We are hosting the next world cup, and having the home advantage we definitely do not want the pressure of being the "Defending" team. The "Defending" team always loses. Better to throw the cup now.

Ahhh... I knew there would be a reason.

For my part, I loved the haka - you should know that France is one of the countries that respect NZ rugby most. I do think it is good that from time to time, playing out of your skin could result in victory against the odds.

This doesn't change the fact that the All Blacks are the reference when it comes to rugby. Wink

(On the contrary - that is the very purpose of a reference.)

I have to confess that, as someone who thought that the England team ought to have packed up and gone home after the SA debaclé, the Australia result was something of a surprise.
Not nearly as much as the France result though. WTF?!

Thanks Leo - it was great to see the French face the haka and stare down the all blacks and accept the challenge. Finally a (non-islander) team who gets it.

You have to admit, it takes a lot of guts (and on BOTH sides) to create this moment:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoWu8AhXAfs

Absolutely electrifying! The two teams finish just a few centimeters apart.

Blighty v France tonight, and the difference between the teams is this chap.....

Since this chap......

...retired from the Blighty team, England has no real leader, no one who has that mighty self believing about them. Marty pushed England on, now he's gone, they have a lacklustre sense about them. Reason why Chabal is the one figure who lifts the French to that extra percent.

So, I have to say that France will just clinch it, but England will be kicking the points all the way with them.

Congrats Aga - England wins with the only try of the match.

We always knew that Wilkinson's foot was the danger, but coupled with a try from Lewsey, that puts the merit on England's side.

What an unfortunate bounce, eh? I really thought that Traille could have flicked the ball out when watching the replays, instead of thinking about the tackle. But I suppose it's the quick decision of the moment when you have to snap one way or another.
Apart from that try, it was really close. Not a fantastic game, but pride should be taken from both sides for the magnificent fair play of the match.

Full respect to France

Argentina 34 - 10 France.

I have to say, that really hurts. Ouch!

Useful feedback, though Wink

So don't cry for me Argentina. The truth is we suck at rugby.

IT WAS A FECKING TRY I TELL YOU!

Well, it was a hard decision to call, and the call was wrong Revenge most foul!
That could have changed the game over on it's head.
Never mind, at least we did better than the convicts! Wink
