As some of you know I live in the San Diego area. Here's an image of the fire zones and evacuation areas. The arrow is where I live.

The edge of the evacuation area is about 4 miles from me. It's unlikely that it will get much closer since it's no longer in wide open area and it will be on flat ground. And it would have to cross the 125 which is about 6-8 lanes at that point.

Anyway, I wanted to let everyone know I'm good and I'll keep you updated.

Winter came early here. The trees didn't even have time to shed their leaves.

But the snow seems like a nice alternative.

Thanks for the update, Sam. I tend to worry a little too much about people here when I hear the daily news, but it's just something I do.

Glad to hear things are okay so far. On the plus side, I imagine you must be getting some really nice sunsets lately.

Yeah they're awesome.

Looks like I'm out of trouble. The winds have reversed and now the fire is expanding away from my area.

Thats good to know... I would hate to arrive only to find you have secured a nice box next to your burned down rubble for me to stay in.

(Glad you are ok, albeit a late sentiment)

Thanks. By the way did I mention this is where you'll be sleeping?

Looks like you might have to fight for it. *nudge*

My cats actually did briefly fight over the box! Unfortunately my flash wouldn't recharge *frown*
