Is there a way we can have a link to all new posts since a person last visited a thread? This would be helpful in a lot of threads so that the person doesn't have to go scrolling looking for the first yellow paper thingy. I'm assuming this wouldn't be too hard since the system apparently already knows which posts are new.

There is already such a thing. In the forum view screen, click the little orange thingie with the arrow next to it, to the left of the topic name.
