A man whose best-known invention epitomizes a great idea against a man who is often called "the Great".

Pah, Edison doesn't belong up here. He's a thief. Most of "his" inventions were invented by his employees and then patented in his name. He also tried to discredit alternating current due to its superiority over his direct current.

Alexander's soldiers did all of his conquering for him and he took the credit.

This is the only match-up that I think is unfortunate, in that neither of them belong in the semi-finals, even though they were certainly both significant figures.

(I'm also highly suspicious of the voting which has currently tied out three of the contests - that seems improbably coincidental to me.)

I think that it is consistent with the voting patterns thus far, and there have been no big jumps in the tallies at any point that I've noticed.

I'd expect the votes to be *voteforAlexander* more tied as we get closer to the finals.
