The RULES:
1. Players pick 20 celebrities whom they predict will die in 2009. When one of their celebrities dies, they score points. Whoever has the most points at the end of the year wins. You gain points equal to 100 minus the age of the person at time of death, however, you will always get at least 1 point for a death.

Your list can include up to 2 replacements. These will be used if any of the people on the list you submitted died prior to the start of the New Year.

2. All picks must be made before 11:59pm January 2, 2009 via PM to me. Any lists submitted after this time will be allowed, however, you will not be able to score on any deaths within one month of submission. (For example, if you submit on March 2 and someone on your list dies March 20, you will not get any points for that person. If they die after April 2, those deaths will score points.)

3. Valid picks must not be:

a. already dead
b. a fictional character
c. non-human
d. under age 18 at death

4. If there is uncertainty about the celebrity's age at death, I will go with the higher age (lower score).

5. Picks must specify a name: listings like "anybody from the cast of friends" are ignored.

6. Persons under sentence of death will be valid for scoring points only if they die by means other than official execution.

7. Attempting to deliberately cause the death of a chosen celebrity may result in disqualification.

8. Attempts to deliberately extend the lives of other players' celebrities that you have not chosen by, say, inventing a cure for cancer, or providing life-saving surgery, ARE allowed.

9. I will allow two lists by the same person, however, if you opt to do this, your second list has to have a theme. (for example cartoonists or authors or people whose names start with the letter A, etcetera)

The AWARDS, other than the Winner:

The "Quantity Not Quality" Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick the greatest number of celebrities who died, regardless of their actual point value.

The "Inside Track with the Grim Reaper" Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick a celebrity that no one else picked.

The "Opening Kickoff" Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick the first listed celebrity to die in 2009.

The "Final Hours" Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick the last listed celebrity to die in 2009.

The “Party Pooper” Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick a celebrity who dies on their birthday.

I'll get the listing up in a bit and we have had our first point scored by Amb.

OST, send me a replacement for Eartha Kitt if you like, since she died in the last few days of 2008.

jesus_saves - your list only had 19 names.

Well, I would like to add a themed list just for fun-- but instead of listing these fellows with MTV can they be listed as M38? I think it would be best to separate the themed part from the non-themed on this one.
