Hello Alex, Yeah we were in the middle of a slump but than the great MNO stepped in and almost single-handedly saved the forum. We try and keep the labyrinth at a more relaxed fun pace than some of the other forums. So just stick around for a week or two and we may have another game starting.

I definitely agree that the free market system killed it. most of us would start joining multiple games and before long it would become too much to handle and then people would stop following and quit playing altogether. i only really came on the GL for the mafia games and after a while it just wasn't the same, which is why i never really post here anymore (not that anyone cares).

Although I'm a longtime GL'er, it has only been in the last two years that I've ventured out of VSP, and only in 2009 that I've been involved here. Part of the reason for me branching out is that VSP has gone pretty quiet, too. (That, and the fact that I'm sick of the whole "work" thing so I goof off a lot more than I used to.)

Anyway, I know that we now block our forums from showing up on search engines. I think that change is what has led to a lack of new blood. People are going to drop away, gradually, and if we don't replace them, we will die out. (I know that I originally came to GL as a result of a Google search, or maybe it was AltaVista, back then.)

I've been thinking of modding mafia now, but I'm new to modding it so I'd wanna start simple, and I worry that simple won't get the draw needed to get enough players. Once one of my VG games is through I'll try something tiny (9 players, 7 if necessary) and work from there. I guess the problem is more amount of participants though..

yeah i believe we need to have an incentive for getting new players into mafia whether they are current Gl'ers that don't normally play mafia, or new people entirely.

Also I am willing to help anyone who wants to venture into modding Mafia games. I have made a lot of mistakes while modding, and i will be able to help you not make some of those same mistakes

Hey, I've been working on a mafia game format, and wanted to run the balance of the roles past someone who knows what they're doing and wouldn't mind not playing the next game that (hopefully) runs here. It's pretty basic, I just don't wanna start it up if I'm dead wrong on the balance.
