Well, obviously, Rosy Riddle is an anagram of Disorderly.
And now to play with anagrams...

I'll take the easy one.

The climate of the desert deters most visitors.

From the 3rd sentence on we have no indicative bolding. Hmmm....

The overconfident marine challenged three airmen simultaneously.

In which of the chalets did you leave your satchel?

The emigrants are still mastering their English.

Alexander Pope cautioned us about a little education...

I've never seen so many magnates wearing magentas

To avoid being damned, don't madden God.

Many people from other nations find yanks downright snaky. (?)

A preserved iceman is likely to be an(a)emic.

In reality, Gordon boarded the plane tearily.

Did you discern where the cinders came from?

So we have:
1. obverse/observe
2. please/asleep
3. desert/deters
4. naivest/natives
5. adroitly/dilatory

6. ?? One should never humor those keen on jousting.
7. marine/airmen
8. seated/sedate

9. ?? Send in the relief; I'm fed up with the saffron garden.
10. towels/lowest
11. chalets/satchel
12. emigrants/mastering
13. cautioned/education
14. magnates/magentas
15. damned/madden

16. ?? The unrivaled fencer claims ruses as the secret to his success.
17. yanks/snaky?
18. swine/wines

19. ?? The taskmasters' grandeur is overrated.
20. iceman/anemic
21. hatred/dearth
22. angel/glean
23. reality/tearily
24. discern/cinders
25. eighths/highest
26. voter/trove
27. solemn/melons
28. eastern/nearest

Anyone see anything in there that might answer the riddle yet?

The top fencer claims pot as the secret to his success.

...or maybe

The best fencer claims bets as the secret to his success.

but really, I think it's

The finest fencer claims feints as the secret to his success

Perhaps:

Send in the ax, oh nuts!; I'm fed up with the xanthous garden.

I DISCOVERED SOMETHING HUGE:

Most of the anagrammed words only have one other anagram:
1 verbose
2 elapse
3 rested
4 vainest
5 idolatry
6 eluded
7 remain
8 teased
9
10 owlets
11 latches
12 streaming
13 auctioned
14 nametags
15 demand
16 infest
17
18 sinew
19
20 cinema
21 thread
22 angle or genal
23 irately
24 rescind
25 heights
26 overt
27 lemons
28 earnest

But now I am stuck...

Good one!

A quick look for the obvious shows the first letters spelling "vervier tools and insect airhole." (Okay, I added three missing links)

Got it, thanks to mrs. math teacher!

What, you expected me to spoil it here?

BTW, one of the answers above is wrong, in that the unique third anagram should have been used, leaving the other one for mrsmathteacher's list.

I even looked at the initial letters, but assumed that I was off since "vervier" isn't a word.

It used to be the case that people submitted answers. If you look at the solutions to some of the early puzzles, there is commentary that "so many people got this wrong answer" etc. I'm not sure when we changed, though, but now your only reward the personal satisfaction of a job well done.

I believe that Courk is planning to post a new puzzle every month. The answer is put up there after its pretty clear that people are done working on it, at least the first wave of people. I'm not sure.

You'd better believe I'm following these threads too, hoping y'all don't solve them as fast as you did this one Laughing
Also yes, I believe Courk's intention was one puzzle per month so you'll have to wait a bit for the next one. Should be some good puzzles in VSP if you can't wait that long Revenge most foul!

Yeah, we're running at ~1 puzzle per month. We have a lot of back logged puzzles, but they'll only seem like a lot if they last a while. I can't be posting two puzzles a week. Felicitous

Spoiler: Each pair of anagrams has exactly one other anagram. Using the initial letters of those 3rd words spells out 'vernier tools and insect airhole'. [NB. the 4th sentence was 'The Sioux were the vainest of the American natives', giving the 3rd anagram as 'naivest']. This then gives 'calipers' & 'spiracle', with the missing 3rd word, and final answer, being 'replicas'.
