Did you find out somewhat late in life that you're related to Emperor Zurg? This would be the immortal Buzz Lightyear

General: Is the style of entertainment with which you're associated a circus? (I am including Cirque du Soleil in my definition of 'circus,' since it's right there in the name and all.)

Edited just to add bold style.

Good question, Zag. I had already googled Fischbacher and Horn (though I had to use their fist names, Seigfried and Roy). I didn't know their last names but thought maybe...

I have a general coming from Buzz Lightyear, but I'll wait for the answer to yours.

Thanks. When he said that all but one is appropriate for under-16 crowd, it immediately made me think of Cirque du Soleil, which has an X-rated show in Vegas. But a little googling did not turn up anyone who looks like a founder or key person starting with L, but I admit I didn't try that hard. So I tried to include it in a question, but make it a little broader, in case I was close but not quite on the mark.

For the expired elkhound question, I was thinking of Rob Lowe, but there are probably others.

Stumpers:
In 2000, did you appear in Little Nicky as the character John?

You weren't sure so you put a question mark there?

So we narrowed it down and got it. Good job Zag and ralphmerridew! Cirque Dreams Illumination is coming to Houston next year. I'm sure I'll get to see it.

...mathematician... Lenz is wrong.

Edit: Oops, didn't notice we were done! Hooray!

LAGRANGE was the answer to that one, btw.
The Lagrangian of a system is Kinetic Energy - Potential Energy. (L=T-V)
I remember using it in applied mathematics to deduce just about any equations of motion. Wiki makes it look really complicated, though maybe I was smarter back then Razz

Hey, good work. I hadn't thought of a Circus until Zag's question (I was heading toward Puppets with my questions.)

But I think he qualifies on the "famous" count - at least at the moment. (I certainly read enough stories about him in the last few months.)

DG: I think so. He was on the ISS when this thing started, and I get thousands of news stories on google news.

PuzzleScot: I am quite fortunate that he did not perform EVA because I could not think of the name of an astronaut who had, and I would have had to answer "Yes, I am Guy Laliberte" to your question. (oh, and I must have missed the word "dynamic" in your question... Lenz's is also an energy minimization law)

I think there is no argument to say that he is more famous than Botticelli. On the other hand, since we allow research for general questions, I think it is an unnecessary restriction, as well. The "more famous than Botticelli" rule is more for when you are playing without research allowed.
