Due to the fact that all the planets, apart from Earth, are currently located on the other side of the Sun, the pull of gravity is slightly reduced on Earth today for that portion of Earth facing the Sun.

The effect will be most pronounced at 11:39 GMT, but can be experienced for several hours on either side.
The main consequence is that objects will be as much as 0.13% lighter, so you should allow yourself that extra chocolate muffin to-day.
Unfortunately, you will still need to work off the extra weight tomorrow. Felicitous

Wasn't this reported by the BBC a while back?

I'm not sure where I first heard it.
I remembered it when trying to figure out how I would trick my kids, but it goes back a few years.
I taped them bouncing on the trampoline asking me if I could see any difference. Twisted Evil

I found this though...
Quote:
1976: The British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on BBC Radio 2 that at 9:47 AM a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event was going to occur that listeners could experience in their very own homes. The planet Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, temporarily causing a gravitational alignment that would counteract and lessen the Earth's own gravity. Moore told his listeners that if they jumped in the air at the exact moment that this planetary alignment occurred, they would experience a strange floating sensation. When 9:47 AM arrived, BBC2 began to receive hundreds of phone calls from listeners claiming to have felt the sensation. One woman even reported that she and her eleven friends had risen from their chairs and floated around the room.

To be clear, I posted mine because the concept of crusty old monocled Sir Patrick Moore playing an April Fools joke on the radio is hilarious.
