Why don't we divide the mafia into 3 subforums? One for pure signups, one for finished day phases (moderators can move them after they have been completed) and one for current ongoing day phases. Old/finished signups could also be moved along with the finished day phases.
It would make things much nicer and more organized for those seeking to play. |

Mmmmm. The mafia forum is starting to look friendly enough that members might start playing there again.
Maybe we should move the mafia signups to a secret forum so that nobody could find it. It could be all exclusive, just like Courk's secret cave! |

I know some people might not be as well versed as I am with Internet Lingo, so let me break this new slang word down for you: "sub-forum"
As in a user would click the mafia game forum and be presented with 3 separate forums: The Graveyard (where completed games and completed signup threads are kept), The Signup List (where current signups for new games as well as replacements are being kept) and the Current Mafia Games forum (where current day phases would be)
Humans have a term for this bizzare concept which I am suggesting. The term, I believe, is called "organization". |

Actually, what I am thinking of makes it nearly impossible for people to see the signup threads.
I think you might be happier with the mafia at http://mafiascum.net/ |

Hi there askbob, and welcome!
I believe what MatthewV meant to convey is that we don't see a need for further organization of the Mafia forum at this time. The forums as a whole and the Mafia forum in particular do not see enough traffic to truly warrant the use of sub-forums. There are few enough current games and signups that they are all readily visible at the top of the page for convenience of players who don't wish to jump between forums, while completed games naturally gravitate downward as they stop receiving posts. And frankly if the low number of current games were underscored it might be discouraging to our player base!
MatthewV is correct that Mafiascum, a site created by one of our members and which is devoted almost entirely to the game of Mafia, is liable to have more structure in its Mafia forums. I'm not a member of that forum so I don't know if they use the "graveyard" system you recommend, but I know they have further divisions with regard to type of game, etc. That being said, I hope it doesn't deter you from also participating in games here, as our Mafia forum could use a bit of rejuvenation. |

Also, we don't have the subforum mod for phpBB installed. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |
