I love Dark Tower.

Thought for improvement of mafia: what if we change this thread to the queue thread like they have over on mafiascum? People "/in to mod" and get put on the list. When one game has started, the next mod's game goes into sign-ups and starts when the previous game finishes (or maybe gets down to the end). I know we don't need it as much as they do, but I think it might help so we can be more fair and orderly with regards to whose game starts next. Additionally, this thread would double as the sign-up thread so we aren't having dozens of sign-up threads. I guess it that sense it makes it more localized.

It's just something to bounce around. I'd be happy to moderate the sign-up thread if we decide that's a good idea. (Of course, I'd have to have moderator powers back Twisted Evil

, but that's whatever.)

I kind of think that having a sign-up thread and a game thread for each game is working pretty well. I had originally tried setting up some unusual games which, I guess, didn't exactly resonate with people, so they didn't get enough sign-ups. I wouldn't want something like that holding up other people starting up games. It's also nice to have the separate sign-up thread around for people to register as possible replacements.

I see no reason why we can't have a thread like this one, but with a bit more structure. We can still have signup threads for mafia games, and we don't necessarily have to have hard and fast rules on how many games can run concurrently. But with the somewhat reduced player pool we've got here on the GL it makes sense to have only one or two games going at once, and if there are several people wanting to mod a game (as there currently are) it wouldn't hurt to give them some order.

Currently been bouncing around ideas for character roles in a "Body Parts" mafia, an "Arrested Development" mafia, and an "Internet Meme" mafia.

Not sure if I'd be trusted to run them though (understandably). Although "Arrested Development" could literally be "Arrested Development".

Just a few games I had been thinking about. Probably not going to run them myself. Don't have time with baby now. Revenge most foul!

Fluxx Mafia: Town stays town, Mafia stays mafia, the role powers move randomly from person to person within those two pools of players.

Turf War Mafia: There's 3 different mafia groups (The Family, Russians, and Yakuza) who are trying to eliminate the town and the competition. The town also has different factions (Masons, Neighborhood Watch, and the Super Heroes) but they work more together without knowing who each group is. The mafia groups would make up about 50% of the game, but one mafia group has to beat out the others or the town has to get rid of all the mafia.

Federal Mafia: Everyone is a part of the mafia, but there are some Feds who have several informants gathering information and arresting mafia members.

I think that's all I have for now. Revenge most foul!

I know there's a queue so I'd like to claim a place now. I have 2 ideas and perhaps could do a smallish game to see just how (badly) I do...

I may need some guidance from someone who's already modded a game just to point me in the right direction. The information I require would not prevent them from participating...

I'm looking to start up a new game format in September. A rough draft of a name was "Trio Mafia". A lot of large parts still need to be filled in, but the basic concept is that through either town votes, mafia kills, some random power role, whatever happens to work, etc. that three people at a time would be separated from the town and left to choose a lynch on their own, and that's how the lynches would be decided for the game. Between the three players, amongst the three players.

What I'm looking for at this point are any suggestions one would be willing to offer. Or thoughts on how to go about balancing what is expected to be a somewhat cautious idea.

Another piece to the basic concept I had was that while in the three person voting area, players would be immune from night powers but also couldn't enact their own night powers if they had any. Is this attractive? Does this seem mafia (game wise, not just sided to one faction) friendly? Any comments are welcome, thanks. Extreme Delectation

Still have a lot of work to do with it though.

Also thinking of running a mini game to get some experience as a mod. I've already done the roles for it, just need to do rules and such. The theme of it would be "Erik the Viking" movie from 1989.

its been nearly 170 games since the last star wars mafia, I think the material wouldn't be considered overused.

I do still have a game planned, but with the sudden rush, I'll wait it out. This would be a 9-11 player game. At this stage, I will book a launch for around September 1 with a delay factor added if a large scale game is still going at that point.
